If only- because you could make the courser follow you instead of starting conversation -you could easily lead him to a lovely place that has a long enough drop to do fall damage to him >:)

I just did this quest and somehow managed to get to and kill the Courser before he killed three Gunners. Not sure how it happened. I had never done that previously.

I didn't talk to him, I was on a mission for one thing. So armed with this unique shotgun I never need it reload, I got point blank and started firing shotgun rounds to his face until he went down.

I know there's no reason not to... but just for the RP of it when I was looking for a Courser Chip inside his head... I avoided things like point blank shotgun blasts to the head. Again, entirely pointless mechanics wise. But still there's that bit of character to worry that your plasma rifle or shotgun or whatever to the face is going to ruin what you came for.

I created a Moma Murphy synth, so she is still around.

So I've been going through a phase of character focused playthroughs. Really flexing the role playing. I've been making famous characters throughout history and making their stats match to their personal abilities and personality as best as I can. It's highly satisfying. I would make a series from just showing off my builds hahaha.

I' wonder how would this go down if you get into the Railroad first and then go find Virgil and only then go after the courser at Greenetech, i mean like would any possible companion character from the railroad have this as a mission or quest or simply help you with this or not, and whether the Railroad would help the synth girl in Greenetech or not.

Beware! Not even a single bed to save if you are playing in survival mode!
Nerve wracking stealth approach paid off by not dying even once.

Ultimately I wish we could have had deeper conversation with the Courser. There was nothing of that sort.
Also There was no way to have different outcomes. The courser had to die and we had to get into combat. This is the real criticism of Fallout 4.
This quest was just a kill quest ultimately. Enjoy the stealth and gunplay. Be ready to be disappointed by lack of choice and no ability for real role play.

Hunter/hunted is bugged for me can't get near the damn cit compound to get the courser signal...the game will crash...I tried every fix but to no avail ruining my bos playthrough. Makes me wanna stop playing the game.

edit: I have found a work around after 12 hours of hard work decoding this bug.....

if you cant go near the CIT area to at least get the courser signal marker for hunter/hunted quest...

1.) just fast travel near cambridge police station. boy I hope you joined or at least didn't pissed off the brotherhood of steel. then come as close to the vicinity of CIT enough to trigger the explored CIT compound marker then immediately back off the cell of CIT just go back where you previously moved as soon as you explored CIT to be able to fast travel.. you need console for the next phase...for survival players sorry this is not for you buddy.

2.)upon acquiring the fast travel option to CIT don t mind the courser signal marker if you go there it will crash. just press "~" and type "setstage 000229eb 30" minus the quotes and enter. this will progress the quest to bypass the courser signal acquisition and moved to "molecular level" quest. you will be tasked to kill the courser. but your still at CIT... lol
you can either walk to greentech which I doubt will crash you or you can do the next part. there will be no signal whatsoever because you skipped the marker its okay.

3.)No worries... just type "player.moveto 00064dfc" minus the quotes and enter. this will fast travel you to the courser location inside greentech building. no courser and gunner gunfights? because the animation will be triggered when you enter through the door. but you didn't lol.

4.) its so quiet? just type setstage 000229eb 100" minus the quotes and press enter the achievement will popup saying you've acquired the courser chip but you don't have it yet lol..then the courser will appear in front of you asking why are you following him now its either you kill him or use mama murphys visions with the courser code to deactivate him...yup give jets to mama murphy while going through the hunter/hunted quest and she will have this visions just like oxhorn said.

5.) after getting the chip and looting the place type "coc Sanctuaryext" minus the quotes and enter you will be transported to sanctuary or "coc CambridgePoliceStationext" to return to bos headquarters. or any other place you know the coc.. and that's it.. don't use the exit door it will crash you.

Glad I'm watching this when it's all out. I wouldn't be able to wait. My current addiction. Yes with the help of the TV show but oh well. NV was so fun. But wow fallout 4 is great and has my interest. Best part is I have no idea how this ends.

So, I went and talked to Virgil then headed to CIT. I tuned to the frequency and explored the crap out of CIT. There were no quest markers. All I had was that static from the radio. I did not here the beep. So, I looked it up. It just took forever cuz I didn’t hear the beep. Finally got the courser chip..thanks for the vid!

I know I'm very late with this, but if Virgil said that the Courser is a closely guarded secret, how did the Gunners know they were being attacked by a Courser?

Does anyone else's game lock up when their gaining a level up? Maybe it's just the Xbox? It's like my game can't handle registering the level up. Major LOL!

I love it when an enemy comes up behind me and is able to attack me while Codsworth is standing right next to me. I have companions or enemies helping me? I can never tell. Major LOL!

There's one that I absolutely love. Bethesda added a holotape that allows me to take control of the turrets. Instead of just being able to disarm the turrets, I cause them to explode or turn them against the enemy. I can't remember where I found it. But, it's awesome when I find a situation where and when it works. Major LOL!

i only use Mama Murphy's sight for the code for the courser, not for anything else since the courser is tough to kill any other way

I'm relatively new to this channel but i have 3 things that keep me coming back.
1) your voice. You're mellow without being slow. You inflect a lot of emotion without being cartoonish.
2) descriptive. You actually describe what's going on like a novel or closed captions which means i don't get caught with thing like "and then he shows you THIS" and have to rush to see.
3) COMPLETE play through covering all dialogue options and outcomes.
