not really. it's for creative people
ОтветитьRight as I heard Math, I'm in :D
ОтветитьIm out..
ОтветитьI think being good at math isn't that important on this career. At least not that important than it is ie. for a civil engineer. Of course it's goof if you are capable for some basic mathematical thinking.
Ответитьme too.. just the basics in math.. my professor often say that to us too.. he also said that architecture is more on creativeness ,designing skills, and also critical thinking.. and you must know how to draw as usual..
Ответитьwell it depends if you suck.. but 5 years is the minimum or required years.. you can graduate after 5 years and then you need have a 2 year apprenticeship to a license architect and after that he can approved you to take the licensure examination and if you pass.. then you'll be a license architect but if you failed take another on next year.. so the average years before you become a licensed architect is 7-8 years...
ОтветитьCompletely unnecessary. All of this bullshit is the reason wealth disparity is growing, ever since the government started implementing all their regulations and licensing laws everything has gone to hell.
ОтветитьDough Patt I have one important question I want to become an architect but im very slow in MATH. Can I do something about it ?
ОтветитьWith emphasise in computer tools nowadays you don't have to worry about poor math skills.
ОтветитьEnglish?? WHY English is the course that's stressing me the most -.- I dunno if it deserves but that's how it is ._.
Ответитьim really confused whether i should or should not take architecture. Im on average in math and good in drawing. the only thing is what if i dont get enough money.. Can anyone help me? Im almost going tl college and i dont want tl have a bad future.
Ответитьis architecture a worldwide job ?
Ответитьhow much money do u get if you work in dubai
Ответитьhate math ((
ОтветитьChrist... this is worse than being a doctor
ОтветитьYou barely need math as an architect..
Ответитьis this a hatchet job or what?
Ответитьive been wanting to be a architect it's my dream but I'm not sure I want to cause when I get to do design work I am one of the most creaive people at my school and am interested in putting those creative ideas into my life in the form of architecture
ОтветитьI want to be an architect when I grow up
Ответитьyeah Architect is my DREAM... or i can be an inventor for my life... idk i am very creative and precise with my creations... Architecture is one of my main topics... And DREAM
ОтветитьI want to be an Architect because that is my Dream but when I heard that is important to Learn the Math I feel So Sad because I'm so Fear at Math But I Will try my best to learn it because Architect is my dream to be someday ❤❤❤
Ответитьcan you work without being registered architect ?
ОтветитьI want to be an architect, I honestly do , I'm really good at math , but why do people tell me that being an architect is lame, is it cuz architects don't make alot of money per year, if so that's bullshit. (wanna be an architect and will be one day tho?
Ответитьi'm not sure if i'll pursue architecture. i am creative. i used to be good in math. but right now my problem is, i am efficient with drawing
Ответитьhey man i m very doof at drawing but i suck in math
what do you think can i have a future as an architect even if i m not good in math because you can t just draw something from imagination and build it .You need to calculate all those formulas if you want that house to stand up .so my answer is that is important math for an architect
can anyone explain to me what is CYA? thank you
ОтветитьI am currently an Electrical Engineering student. I am on try two of Calculus and might maybe pass with a C. I am ok with other math. I am not a typical "artsy person", but I loooovve drafting. by hand, CAD, inventor etc. Not artistic unless you consider boxy, straight lines art?? That's what I like. All I wanted to do before was draft and work with CAD etc, but I feared with the decline in their need I would not get a job so I switched majors. Would Architecture be a good fit? I am not too worried about money. As long as I could average 40k a year I would be happy. I can be lazy, unless something sparks my interest, then I work literately TOO hard.(eight hours AFTER classes on robots)
I often play around on google sketch up for fun, and would really like to design sheds if anyone would actually pay me to do so.
I am looking for honest opinions. Should I steer clear or maybe pursue?
Puro pa'delante
ОтветитьI’m good at math it’s my fav subject
Ответитьloss project = studying architecture
ОтветитьI'm only here cause I wanted to be an artitst and then my parents didn't agree
ОтветитьWhy do Architectures have low salary? What is their avg. salary? Wait why am I even asking that? 😂
ОтветитьI'm quite good at math, average in english. I can say that I'm also creative in different ways. However, when it comes to my drawing skills, sad lol. So I'm quite confused should I still pursue my dream to be an architect ? Huhu send help
ОтветитьMaking floor plans and exterior designs is my favorite, I been looking forward to be an architect. But I found out you’ll make less money for being a architect. HEY I can make my own money while I get paid less in the future. So I need to keep being one even though I make less money!
ОтветитьWhat if you start out making houses in foreign countries?
ОтветитьI love too Design
ОтветитьHi i'm 13 and i need help choosing my course😑😑 I dunno what i should choose.
Ответитьim am g00d in art and im creative but sucks at engIish and I0w seIf steem,,,, s0 i d0nt kn0w if i sh0uId be an architect,,.,.,.,
ОтветитьI suck in math...
ОтветитьGreat, the two subjects I suck at...
ОтветитьCongratulations for making an informative video to try and help people.
I have studied Architecture and have now worked within an Architecture practice for approximately 3 years. I am 27 years old. Just to clarify, I studied and now work within the UK. I don’t want to put any one off - this is just my side to the story.
As far as I am concerned the profession is in major crises, and the crisis is coming from how Architects are taught about the profession within University. I graduated back in 2012 and I feel that studying Architecture at University is very MISLEADING to put it nicely. University also failed to prepare me for the profession. I will explain …
One of the real problems I, and many have had while studying Architecture, is the tools or ‘software’ now involved with the profession. The computer programs associated with Architecture, that you are expected to teach yourself throughout your studies, have become essentials for representing your design work at University and beyond.
One of the complications with learning associated software is you can learn the ‘wrong’ software and the wrong way to use the software. This does not matter so much at University, but you could be in real trouble when looking to get employed after you graduate, if you don’t learn the correct computer software for the industry. If you’re looking to study Architecture in the UK, you must absolutely learn AUTOCAD at Uni. I can’t stress this enough and it’s something that University FAILS to tell you. There was a real cavalier attitude at my University towards which computer software students were using & should use. If you don’t learn the correct software, this with will have big consequences for you after Uni.
I learnt ArchiCAD at Univeristy, a drawing design and 3D programme which is easily downloadable on Apple Operating Software, and learnt it as well as I could. Later I would come to learn that ArchiCAD was inadequate - though nothing was said by my tutors, so I thought I was doing the right thing. 7 job interviews later, after graduating with a 2.1, all practices refused to hire me. After asking for interview feedback I was always met with the same response: ‘Why didn’t you learn AUTOCAD at University? That’s what everyone uses!’.
Feeling a little betrayed by my University and as an unemployed student I went into further dept to shell out the £1800.00 it costs to purchase the license in order to download and learn AUTOCAD from AUTODESK - as I was no longer entitled to a free student download after graduating. I worked as a bin man, chef porter, recruitment consultant, shop assistant, I freelanced, sold my possessions on eBay, worked in Pubs and bars before finally landing my first job in Architecture, two years after graduating Univeristy with a 2.1. I worked for free or as an ‘intern’ for the first 3 months, before the practice decided to hire me. I am now one of the most successful designers in my practice, and put that down to having the correct exposure to the correct software and exposure to the actual industry.
This brings me on to my next point. There is absolutely no reason why Architecture should be taught for 5 -7 years, period. I will challenge anyone who thinks otherwise. I believe Architecture should absolutely re-think its education process and be taught as an apprenticeship in an office, where you have exposure daily to the correct software, tools, thought and work process and indeed industry that you will be working in.
Another thing to bear in mind when choosing Architecture is that Architect companies tend to have a lot less perks than many other professions and are usually dismally supported. Architects aren’t very business minded people and you will be expected to work outside of your contracted ours to get the job done. Don’t be expected to be paid for your extra time either, it just does not happen. I'm currently working 7 days a week to pay my bills and save some money to live in London. Not the life I expected to be living as a 27 young Londoner. The profession is delusional and does nothing much to support young people. You are just seen as a number until you gain some experience, which you won’t be able to do until you trudge through the 5 -7 years of University, all of which you will be able to learn quicker, more efficiently and effectively in a practice.
In other words by the time your 35 years old, you will only realistically start to feel job satisfaction like you should of done at the age of 21. The fees have also gone up to £9,000 approx a year to study in the UK so on paper, with regards to the RIBA’s average 2018 salary guidelines, it will seem like financial suicide for a long time. The truth is the pay is typically poor and slow for a London graduate if you work in Architecture
If you have chosen Architecture, especially in the UK, I wish the very best of luck to you. I forgot to mention all the costs for materials, printing, computer expense that you will need to budget for at University that they don't tell you about, but I think I will leave that for another day. Just don't get me started on Adobe products!
If you have any questions at all I will be happy to help.
I hate maths 🤐
Ответитьmath. will not be here bye
ОтветитьIs it necessary to have English language in A level for studying architecture?
ОтветитьWhat if i m not that good at drawing !
ОтветитьHow Best University Architecture..?
ОтветитьI'm going to be honest ... All of this sounds like contractor work. The design can be CAD or sketch. The complete nature of this is getting the client what they want for a build. You still talk materials, prices, where things are going, how things are to be built... etc. All contractor aspects. But what about the engineering you ask? Well contractors have to understand the engineering of building as it is so that's already a factor they have on their belt.
What if they don't know? .. Then the city will tell them what's needed, RESEARCH will be done, factorials will be worked, the city for who has engineers and archs working IN the building for permits will freely tell you the ins and outs of what needs to happen. They will tell you if you are to use or not to use or make mods. Contractors know dimensions, if you know dimensions, you can sketch up anything. The pricing, we as contractors know our pricing and where things fits and not. One thing we surely know about is budgets! You add all of this together you have nothing more than a glorified contractor with a Masters degree in doing what we already do. I'm no arch by far, more power to those becoming or is one.... My sketches and CAD drawings land me deals that I can collaborate with others to get the job done. Do I tell me clients Im not? Damn right I do, I tell them I'm not an Arch or engineer but the fact that I build and have to know the structure of the build and my resources for the engineered structure to be used is why I'm still here.
So do you want to be an ARCH? Hey, you do YOU. become what your hearts tells you. I don't have $70,000 laying around and 8 years to sit around anymore, I had to make move and be open-minded to the nature of what I want to do with my standards lol
Architect interests me because of my good sketching and visoning building and putting them on paper and enjoying designing things but I also like to Invision helping other people and want to be a general surgeon to help save Lives and do hand on things.also both of them wear suit and ties I think and that a bonus.but any advice I should do?I don't want to work a job and regret my choice and will always be unsatisfied .
ОтветитьArchitects salaries are low because you shouldn’t be overly reliant on salaries as an architect. After working for a firm, you need to stand alone as self employed. Start your own firm and earn about 10% of total projects costs. That’s the aim.
