Thought you have arran, lagg from islands. Crazy expensive bottles you have. My bottles are really basic ones 😅 biggest age stated one is loch Lomond 18.
ОтветитьNice open bottle collection but whoa, so many open bottles (understandable given your channel, but still)!. I try to keep it to 15-20 open max, and only 2-3 really high end ones, to minimize oxidization risk (which doesn’t hit them all and when it does doesn’t harm them all, but it’s sad when the whisky declines coz it’s not being drunk fast enough!). Admittedly, doesn’t happen often but I notice it in some for sure. Good luck on the move and finding that desk from China ….
ОтветитьIf moving doesn't earn you the right to a hefty dram or two, I don't know what does!
Hope your new digs deliver on your needs.
Thanks for posting under the challenging circumstances; and nice of you to share part of your stock.
I do wonder if some of us are tempted to share our current stock of opened bottles. Doing so might result in a massive response section that speaks loudly on your followers' tastes, risks, surprises, and so forth.
Hi Geoff !! I see Springbank ,,Hazelburn , Kilkerran...yammee )))). Cheers !
ОтветитьGood choice Islay and Island whisky ..
ОтветитьMy PC SYC01 arrived today!!!
I've got the SC and the PMC, and had the MRC, so looking forward to a side by side
What is your MO on low bottles ? finish them off quick ? do nothing ? argon spray à la Ralfy ?
ОтветитьGreat video. And congrats on the new place. Are you still based in Taiwan? My wife is Taiwanese. Love the country, people ... and the wife
ОтветитьGreat to see you in your new home! What no bunnahabhain open at your place? Sade 😅
ОтветитьOrdered from like china or somewhere. 😂
Same here.
So many open bottles. I think I’ve been too strict with myself. Must open more. First world problems 👍🥃
ОтветитьHi Geoff, great collection of open Islay and island bottles. Lots to enjoy.
Is Allan a real person or an imaginary one, who is also using your credit card?
Of course without informing you
Do you really not like the Tobermory Manzanilla??? I really liked that one.
The "even more than other" casual format is nice, you can go casual more often.
Great video btw, definitely dont mind these every once in a while, like a “what we bought this last month” type.
Also funnily enough, i think i have literally the same batch of Bruichladdich Single Cask as you do, which is quite the coincidence with about 8000kms of distance. Great bottle!
Alan is the GOAT
ОтветитьThis is mirror universe Geoff. Instead of having a goatee, he wears white shirts. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH PRIME UNIVERSE GEOFF?!
ОтветитьNeed to find an Alan.
Ответить双十节快乐!
ОтветитьNo Ardbeg… no Lagavulin, no Bowmore at last… what is wrong?
ОтветитьHighland Park has gotten rid of most of their NAS whisky, with the exception of their annual cask strength release. Even their current travel retail releases have age statements (14 and 16). I think that’s a good thing, since it can only improve the core range… even if it means no more Dark Origins.
ОтветитьI used to have a few bottles open at a time, but then I heard (from Ralfy et al) that the spirit will degrade once the bottle is open unless you pump preservative into it each time, so now I don't. 🤔
ОтветитьNo Raasay, No Harris, No Bunna - little like a trophy selection (should I say thank you Alan?). Appears that the Taiwanese market gives you a lot more value per buck than us poor malt heads in Australia.
ОтветитьCongrats on the new place! When you say about 75 bottles open, is that just whisky or does that include malternatives too? I have a few more than that open but that includes about a dozen rums. Cheers!
ОтветитьGreat universe of Geoff! Thanks. You mentioned Bruich single cask, it is an amazing dram!!
ОтветитьSpeaking of which, i'm just planning to catch up with you recently!
ОтветитьCheers! And you are welcome for the idea 😄 Looking forward to the rest of the collection!
Hope the move goes quick and pain free.
Hi Geoff, yes, I'd be very interested to hear your thoughts about the Tobermory Manzanilla cask bottling, thanks. I also enjoy the different setting and more relaxed tone/tempo, no need to apologise. Cheers!
ОтветитьI noticed that most of the bottles you featured were only about 20% full. Obviously you’ve had some of those bottles for quite some time. In my much more limited experience, I find that once the fill level dips below 20%, the whiskeys significantly fade away quickly. Over oxidized? Do you experience the same? I store my bottles upright in a dark space.
ОтветитьYeah, surprised like the other that you have some major gaps in your Islay collection. Alan, please help him out some more. 😁
ОтветитьThat Talisker 30 is an interesting whisky. Bold and delicate at the same time somehow. I have it for special occasions. I'm too afraid to count how many opened whiskies I have, I remember long time ago thinking one person only needs 10 whiskies total. LOL. Or maybe I should? Great collection and fun to see what you have available at home. Ps. good luck with the move, I would hate to have to move, it's been too long and I have too much crap.
ОтветитьYeah, yeah, lots of whisky, whatever.... but where can I find an Alan? Is it spelled Allen or Alan? Just curious, you know....
ОтветитьNice collection! Going to try the Highland Park Dark Origins, to get a Highland Park at a good ABV is always a treat. Happy settling in
ОтветитьCan I borrow Allan for a few months?.....Please!
ОтветитьNo Bunnahabhain!? Your friends have deprived you...
ОтветитьNo Arran, Geoff?
ОтветитьDespite Allan and me do not have the same preferences, an interesting list. And yep, I'm glad he dumped the stuff at your place, Geoff.
For the record, from this runthrough I exactly have 2 in my collction (both closed and most likely will remain so).
Slàinte mhath
I thought you were really stressed and under huge pressure, possibly dosed up on caffeine as you showed off your impossibly valuable selection of the whisky you drink at home. I then discovered you were playing at 1.25 speed. Slightly slower than Pinky and Perky (this reference is for the Uk residents) but a fast gabble just the same. I watch reviews such as The V pub on speed (not real speed) but using the settings, as this is usually good for my brain which assimilates information better if it is delivered quickly. You Geoff are a natural gabbler so it is crazy when you are run at even 1.25 speed. Good luck with the stress of moving. If it gets too difficult, grab a cheap bottle, not like the ones you just showed us, and have a moment of quiet reflection.
Ответить❤ wonderful and comical 😂 review. Congratulations on your new home!!
ОтветитьNice little collection, Geoff. I definitely need an Allan in my life.🤔
ОтветитьLook forward to your review of Ardnahoe
ОтветитьWe forgive you Geoff, we can handle some mediocre content for a few weeks 😂 good luck unboxing and setting everything up
ОтветитьThanks Alan
ОтветитьDefinitely want to see a review of the odd Tobermory
Ответитьanyone know where i can find my own Allan?
ОтветитьGeoff, not sure when I'll be back to Taipei; maybe later in 2025. When I know, I'll check back to see if you're still yearning for the new Cairdeas... BTW, nice hairy knee. LOL!
ОтветитьI don't know much, but I am loving my Kilchomen Machir Bay, purchased at your suggestion.
Still love my smoky Laphroaigs. Thanks
Definitely want a Cardeais from Laphroaig and would love to get those cask finished Port Charlottes
ОтветитьNice concept Geoff! I suffer from a lot of open bottles as well. Can you please share the link to being friends with Allan? Cheers!
