I think it hogs the left lane too much. Maybe it's ok in the US but I think it's best to keep left right unless overtaking

In my opinion, FSD's most important flaw is lack of strategic lane use planning. If you know you are taking the next exit and you are 2 miles from the exit, FSD should move to the right hand lane as soon as possible, or even slow down a bit if this opens up an opportunity to move to the right hand lane. Right now, FSD waits until you are under half a mile from the exit before it starts the move.

Best way to get FSD free is by buying a used tesla w fsd included, when you decide to get an upgrade wait for tesla’s email mentioning they can transfer ur fsd with a purchase of a new one from there is go time boys😈

FSD maybe nice for some, but I really don't need for a vehicle to drive itself. I only drive around my town with the Tesla, so I would rather drive the vehicle myself.
I have tried the 30 day free trials, interesting, but no desire to buy the feature.
If they ever provide FSD for everyone for free, then I may try it at times.

Glad your experience was better than mine. It looks like you don't mind exceeding the speed limit more than I am. It is horrible. It exceeds the speed limit by 10 easy even though I have it set not to. Your disengagement of the wrong lane usage didn't make your review. This is one of FSD's biggest faults. When I am using it, I'm constantly putting it in the correct lane for the destination. FSD sometimes picks the right lane but many times it does not. It has even made illegal double lane changes or missed the turn because of it. It misses speed signs all the time. I am not going to install a police scanner so to use the system. I wish you had been more honest with your acknowledgement of the errors at the end of your video.

JJ, another straight forward video and thanks.

Another +1 for the multiple profiles and ability to switch Autosteer & FSD. No steering wheel nagging!!(and the FSD crowd truly does go wild!). Yup, improper lane choices, active school zones and avoiding potholes all still need work but soooo much better than it use to be. It now does a notably better job with marked speed bumps too and, especially rotaries, which used to freak FSD out, especially with a new one. And those "degradation" notices are SOP in dim, low light conditions. Helpful hint that Tesla will probably never, ever put in print: With clear four and two way stops, with no cars or conflicts, FSD will allow you to do a rolling stop using a bit of "right foot intervention". Ditto rotaries, where you can smoothly approach and dart into a lane with that bit of RFI. Well done and let's see some more please.

Yes, at night on an interstate it's finicky is the way I would put it. Just keep trying. With the old FSD (a couple months ago, the v11 version) I'd just hold the turn signal and eventually (after not very long) it'd make the lane change. With the new end-to-end v12 I've not had a long trip, but it's likely the same. Also, I'd never buy the FSD. The whole idea of it not being transferable is a stupid board-room decision to gain money for the stockholders, who in my opinion having been a longtime stockholder is dumb. Tesla doesn't pay dividends. But, Tesla makes a smart car but continually makes inconsiderate decisions that aren't friendly to the drivers. Like a headrest that you can't adjust. That stupid yoke only option for a while. The lack of a stock to use forward/reverse. And on, anyway, FSD is a game-changer for long distance trips even with the occasional break checking of truckers.

My free FSD ends Sunday, and I am pleased enough with it that I am going to do a monthly subscription for a while. I primarily am curious about improvements that are coming. And I want to test smart summon. Self parking is great in my Model X, and is better at parking in the center of a space than I am able to do. I tested FSD when the car was new and didn't trust it. And I tested it again during the last free test and thought it was just ok. This latest free test is a game changer as far as I am concerned.

I hope they bring vision monitoring to standard autopilot. I got the car 2 months ago so I've actually had FSD for free almost the whole time but for the few days I didn't have it, I was sad to see that I had to start turning the wheel to prove I was aware.

And the night vision is a known issue. Happens to me too. Apparently the right cameras can't see enough at night and it causes the warning on darker roads.

Personally, I don't think FSD is worth much if it's not unsupervised. I'm an older driver, and there will likely come a point where I don't enjoy driving, and my senses will be less acute. FSD would be desirable at that stage. At the moment, I really don't see the point in having to babysit something that's like a learner driver. Out on the freeway it would be ok, but in traffic, I think it would be more stressful than just driving the car myself.

Tesla should change how they treat ownership of FSD: for Giga-Expensive Software it should have Giga-Amazing consumer friendly features by default.
-Want to sell your tesla? sell it with the FSD or keep it on your account, choice is yours.
-Want to sell your tesla and buy another telsa? sell it with the FSD or transfer FSD or keep it on your account.
-Have more than one tesla in your immediate family or household? one FSD purchase everyone can use and if you rent a tesla sign in to use the FSD on your account.

FSD is NOT ready yet. I have used it twice, back in April and right now as it has been offered for free for a month to test it. I work many times until late and at night, it fails to get me home from work. It cannot detect the streets correctly by my house since there is no sidewalks in many areas. I even cleaned the front camera (pain in th neck to remove the cover) and have the latest updates. It is NOT ready. I will not pay $8K or $99 a month (subscription) for a system that doesn't work. As an IT systems administrator and computer and network technician, I know very well how computers work. I will wait for at least 4 to 6 more years before I even think about getting it on a future Tesla. Besides, I love to drive, and the Autopilot which is included on all Tesla models at no additional cost does just enough for me on road trips. No need to have FSD. Only reason I would get it is for the summon but is just to be "cool". Not a necessity.

I've experienced all of the same issues. Majority of the time FSD works just fine. But it's the occasional times that make it really hard for me to justify the subscription...I have better piece of mind when I'm driving myself.

Now, if I was a bad driver to begin with....this might actually be helpful.

I'm slowly becoming dependant on FSD. Ya it's silly sometimes when it accelerates too fast or brakes too hard BUT 95% of the time it's just so nice. Now we don't even need to touch the steering wheel which is what we always expected. Currently auto pilot settings are : Chill mode, Limited lane change, hov and toll roads turned off.

Maybe I'm wrong - but I actually bought just Autopilot for my 2018 Model S, not FSD, and the subscriptions for FSD or enhanced Autopilot have disappeared from the selection menu.
I am super annoyed about this, because I would have loved to periodically upgrade for trips. So I suppose I will also not get any future invitations.
I'm also super dissapointed that this was nowhere to be found in any document that was presented to me before or after the purchase.

I've been playing with mine the past couple of weeks. But I don't trust it 100% because if I hit something or someone I'm ultimately responsible so I can't just sit back an never intervene. Also what if FSD makes a illegal maneuver and I get pulled over. Is the officer going to let me go because it was FSD's fault. I'm betting probably not. So there's a fine line between my responsibility and FSD's?
