Panda Express quality can vary quite a bit between locations. Some places are abysmal, but some places are quite decent. I farm the feedback surveys to get effectively get a bigger plate for the price of a regular plate and I essentially get chicken and broccoli (kung pao chicken, orange chicken, teriyaki chicken w/o sauce, and only super greens). If nothing else it's a great deal for the price given today's fast food prices.

Hello! I'm the one who sent in the train story. Thank you for reading it out! I think it was the same storm that you and Natsuki got stuck in, since this happened on August 30 last year.

To give people more details as to what happened: the train station was filled with about 3 news crews reporting on the bullet trains being stopped between Nagoya and Tokyo. So we took the bullet train from Osaka to Nagoya, a smaller train from Nagoya to Shiojiri, and the absolutely packed train from Shiojiri to Shinjuku. A bunch of people in the luxury car behind us wanted to get off at a station near Tokyo, but so many people were unable to move, they missed their stop. The whole experience felt like being a stowaway, standing between 2 train cars for 3 hours.

Still had a great time in Japan though, and we look forward to visiting next year as well. Thanks for so many hours of entertainment, Chris and Pete~

Spot on with the cherry bit, Pete! I have been visiting Japan regularly...almost every year ( sometimes twice) since 2014. I was supposed to be in a business meeting there in march 2020 when they cancelled everything due to Covid.
Fast forward November 2023, started visiting Japan again... and it's been eight times of outstanding experience since. I even did the Yamanote line tour ( as wonderfully explained by Chris San in a staggered manner and more in depth since October 2024 until my last visit in March 2025). Japan has become my addiction!😅😂

It’s very annoying how others are reminding you all the time what is your age though…. I don’t get it why people are so obsessed with age and numbers!?! Who cares?! Jeez!

I don’t get the hate on Panda Express. I visited America early 2020, and I thought it was pretty good for fast food Chinese. Not the best Chinese food I’ve had, but decent and good value.

In Hokkaido, stop by the Niseko ski area (many resorts). The mountains are spectacular and you have perfect views of Mt Yotei (Enzo Fuji). Great one day stop outside of ski season.

Climbed up Fujinomiya and down Yoshida last year. Despite it being a national holiday, so my working friend could come a long, it wasn't crowded. Reserving a hut was easy. The further down we climbed on the Yoshida trail the more people appered. The 5th station felt like disneyland in comparison to the 5th station on Fujinomiya. Would def advice against Fujinomiya. We went to Fuji-Q Highland the day after climbing down, otherwise we would have gone down the same trail we climbed up. Walking around the crater was a bit scarier than I imagined. Overall it was a really cool experience so I am glad we did it.

If Chris teuly wants to get his health together, he needs to face reality and change his diet. There's no amount of physical activity a non athelete can do hat will offset the amount of calories a person eats.

I love Panda Express. It’s not Chinese food but it’s perfect Panda Express. 😂 PS Does the “Gentleman” who had to get rescued twice off of Mount Fuji get a bill? I think it would be perfectly reasonable to charge people who break the law, and require public resources, for the cost of those resources.

I said the same thing when I turned 35, I'm 37 and I'm still telling myself this would be the year I get fit. But... life gets in the way, it's hard to find the time to train when we have to work nearly 10h a day, when finishing work there's no mental push to train... and weekends are just as busy with taking care of the house/ laundry/ pass out eating a pizza and chicken hahaha

A great thing to do at night is Fushimi Inari in Kyoto. There are no excessive crowds, and if you are doing the whole route there will be times when you encounter no one at all. The atmosphere is nice and eerie, just a brilliant experience overall.

Myself and some friends were in Japan about 10 years ago and the first time we got on the bullet train it stopped about 20mins into the journey on the tracks, not a a station or anything just in the middle of nowhere lol.
And all the announcements were in Japanese so we weren't really sure what was happening. All the Japanese people were calm and not really reacting so we figured it wasn't a big deal lol
Turns out there was a typhoon lvl storm and the train was unable to continue safely. I think we sat on the stopped train for about half an hour before the storm let up enough to continue.
And the funny thing is, it's one of my favourite memories been stuck on the world famous bullet train completely still with so much rain outside it was dark even in the middle of the day with everyone sitting silently lol it was like a weird scene in a movie
