The fact that Heat came out the same year as Melon Collie and The Infinite Sadness means that no one anticipated the true, complete, coked-out power of the first piece from the OST that plays in this video. Now when you hear it, the mystery of what EXACTLY makes it feel SO intense nags at you for a bit, until it eventually clicks that it's the chord progression from the bridge of "1979" over and over again for minutes on end with a lead melody that screams "Love Will Tear Us Apart" into a bullhorn from the fucking rooftops, at which point you expect to laugh but instead you just start crying. Baz Luhrman could never.
