I think technically you revealed the giant so you had to put it in hand because you look at the cards then reveal the creatures you want. That being said for the sake of content it might have been more fun to reveal them to see if you have the win

You guys miscounted on the nyx born hydra, it was x is 7 not 6, Tommy tapped a forest 1, then untapped the enchanted forest 3, then 3 spawn 3, then a treasure for a total x of 7 not 6.

Have Tommy animate each card leaving the GY to protect the combo. Editor Tonmy would never crack the relic.

I would say you got lucky the Gruul variant wasnt of the EldraziMoss or KarstMoss flavors (I think those are both better against a large chunk of the field), but I guess you really didnt.

Huge misplay from Tommy in game 1. Not only would the initiative get Tommy a basic land, but he would also have 5/4 over an arbor elf.

Like very few lands, but there's so many tutors for lands, that it actually isn't an issue so you can play a normal game regardless

That spy combo sure is scary, but the Gruul is surprising all tho it feels like it rely on his hydra too much.
