According to Physio Dr.Shikha Gupta, Performing Piriformis Stretch regularly gives immense relief in SCIATICA PAIN.

How to do this??
1) Lie on your back: Start by laying down on your back on a comfortable surface, such as a yoga mat or the floor.
2) Cross one ankle(of painful leg) over the opposite knee (non-painful side): Bend one of your knees and place the foot flat on the floor. Then, cross the other ankle over the bent knee to create a figure-four shape with your legs.
3) Gently pull the knee(non-painful side) towards the chest: Reach underneath the thigh of the bent leg and gently pull it towards your chest. You should feel a stretch in the buttocks and outer hip area of the crossed leg(painful side).
4)Hold the stretch: Hold the stretch for about 30 seconds to 1 minute while breathing deeply and relaxing into the stretch.
5)Switch sides in case you have pain on other side too.
6)You can repeat the stretch on each side 3-5 times daily to help loosen up the piriformis muscle.
