I'm with the late Stephen Hawking... if they can fly through space they can conquer us, we are not ready stop sending signals... he was right.

I feel like the best solution to that ambigious question. Is the oldest answer. Treat life as you want to be treated.

Where has man ever found any evidence to support let alone prove the theory of evolution?
There is no evidence. All the evidence supports creation and further discoveries only serve to provide further evidence.
Where is the evidence of man evolving through the ages from the past to the present and into the future, there is none.

Nothing comes from nothing. And the complexity of the Universe, that of our very existence all points to design, not random chance. Random chance is also further multiplied as there is no intelligence behind it. And not only are we looking at man as we no him happening by random chance, but every living creature on this earth.

Add to this all the planets, suns, moons and so forth, all in just the right position and or orbit in which they revolve, never colliding, never too close or too far. Everything is perfectly placed in the Universe. And all by chance?

And again with the human race, how did chance manage to evolve both male and female, how did chance without intelligence even know that it had evolved any form of life, let alone one of a particular sex, that required another sex which would enable the two in combination to reproduce either one or the other of those two sexes? The more you delve into the requirements of random chance to produce what exists today and without any intelligence behind it, just adds to the enormity of it.

Even today, man cannot determine the physical let alone any change in the complexity of the human brain. What is said to have come about by chance, man cannot deliberate bring into existence. Yet according to man's theory of evolution, random chance through billions of years of evolution is able to do so, without knowing what it is doing. Man cannot influence his theory of evolution to determine the path that it follows. So life continues to evolve under this theory, by random chance. What will come next in mans continued journey through evolution, two heads and a tail because man man is not in control and therefore also not of his future.

This is mainly fake news. The data is so inconclusive at this time. The discovery of biosignature ie, dimethyl sulfide is so faint that there is a roughly 1 in 70 chance of being an error. So this video is a load of hot air.

When the extremely large telescope comes on line. With that 39 meter mirror will it give us a better more detailed look at this planet. Possibly allowing us to confirm or deny the original JWST findings?
That telescope is going to be operational in the next couple of years if im not mistaken. Or is there a body between us and this planet that might allow some gravitational lensing giving a more detailed look?
Sorry not great questions, just a curious old not so bright guy.

Do we have a photograph of this 'planet'? Amongst al the "coulds" and the CGI imagery, there is is no verifiable fact. Just science fiction nonsense for children. Herei is a telescope, in motion, viewing the moving heavens, telling us about something supposedly so far away that it cannot be seen. So preposterous.

Not sure if it’s a true hycean planet, because (if the analysis is correct) the CFCs suggest industrial activity. You cannot have that on a true water world, because it would be a water trap ie no smelting of metals etc.

My question, is if this was 124 light years away, and we are presuming a potential technological existence similar to us , are we then not behind the power curve per se' by 124 years, and would we not them be picking up on antiquated signature. Or is my train of thought inaccurate here

How frustrating to think that if light from the planet so discovered came to us from an origin that started in Napolean's time, will suspected life still be there by the time we send a probe and it arrives there and comes back to us? Will star it orbits Nova or become uninhabitable to any life because it is a faint star before we can truly find out?

So it's 124 light years away. What's been detected is from the past. If life there is anything like humans they have probably already destroyed their home. Maybe intelligence not used in a intelligent way is not so good. So in about 200 years we might learn something from it.

Overly speculative. The observations of atmospheric chemistry are error prone. The speculation of what these observations might indicate are based only on what we know of earth. This is a different world. We must rule out any other plausible explanations for these signatures before wildly talking of intelligent life on other planets

It could, and there’s a possibility, we believe, and here’s a long story about stuff we are dreaming about with one or two clues and we’re going to sell you a huge story about life on another planet. I’ll be over here rejecting the existence of god but telling stories about big foot as fact.

If there is intelligence out there we will never know if they are smart. To them we are a zoo run a-mock. Probably terrifying……
