An absolutely outstanding score, to be compared to that of Schoenberg - This one is more tonal, but even more subtle in matter of tones.

I got to this fine composer, whose music was collecting dust in a Vienna Conservatory for years, by reading Alma Mahler´s autobiographical book "Mein Leben". I've heard that some of Alex Zemlinsky´s music was awaken as well from the same sleepy folds by he same book.
