Cherry picked fights his entire career against old greats who were out of their prime (yes shogun wasn’t that old but his prime was when he won the Grand Prix ten years prior) or belonged at 185: lyoto, Vitor, chael. Anyone in their prime that were actually his weight gave him a close fight. Guys who will be remembered as essentially nobodies besides Gus. Think Reyes and santos. His best win is over a 5’10” almost 40 yr old wrestler. Overrated as fuck. Numbers don’t lie but everyone is looking at the wrong numbers.
