Commercialization of a novel method for fabricating cheap tailor–made superhydrophobic surfaces
We have recently developed a novel process that allows us to achieve “tailor-made” control of polymer surfaces' wettability, by altering the morphology of these surfaces at a nanometer scale, using a fast, inexpensive, and versatile approach.
Applying this process makes these surfaces impossible to wet (Superhydrophobic), giving them controlled functionality and unprecedented capabilities (self-clean, low flow friction, controlled droplet handling etc.).
The aim of the HYDROPHO-CHEAP project is to optimize, protect, and commercialize the methodology.
