Well... I can understand your point of view but one of the most important thing is that Jenny Han is happy and proud of this movie, isn’t it ?

I agree with you 100%. This movie really shallow and dumb. It's funny because I've read somewhere that it's considered an instant classic? Like whaaat??

I haven’t watched the movie, yet, but I’m interested in your comment that they look too “American-y.” How so?

I haven't read the books and have no interest in them but I watched the movie and thought it was okay, about what I was expecting. My girlfriend liked it so there's that!

I agree with everything that you said! I do like the lead actors and actually all the actors minus Margot but I do feel like they did “dumb it down” which they didn’t need to! I love the Korean culture that was imbedded into the novel and the baking and that was barely there. Peter didn’t fall for Lara Jean that fast! It made their romance feel fake and insta-lovey which I hated . I know they had to condense the movie to fit a certain time frame but still...I was disappointed mostly bc I love the book so much.

I read the book and really loved it so I was excited to see the movie. I have to say that I did enjoy it, but I totally agree with all of your criticisms.

“The whole stereotypical mid twenties thing” 😂 Love it💞👏🏼 I’m also wondering what happened to Ms. Rothschild, not one mention of her in the movie. And also, Lara Jean’s baking. She’s constantly making cookies in the book and it got totally left out in the movie! Great video, subscribed✨

The sex talk scene felt like the opposite of Ten Things I Hate About You, considering those fathers have the same job it was like ‘ let’s not make it completely the same’

I agree with so many of these facts. I LOVED the book, as I related to the character of Lara Jean but the movie did lose a lot of the moments I actually liked about the book. I think the book definetly was better than the movie, and the movie should've had a better storyline and more depth. Also, I think Jenny Han was probably excited for the fact that her book was becoming a movie that she got caught up in that and maybe didn't argue that they changed it so much. That sucks. I would've liked to see more.

THAAAANK YOU, urgh everybody seems to not have this issue either because they haven't read the book and only watched the movie. The book was alright, but that movie butchered it and made it way to 'Hollywood' for my taste. PETER WASNT ATTRACTIVE THANK YOU. I had imagined this very 'even tho I don't like him, he is still the most handsome boy i've ever seen' type of handsome and he wasnt. He was weirdly quirky and too soft. The casting was weird, they did not follow anything according to the book and I am surprised nobody said 'hmmm see now that never happened that way'. The whole thing felt dumbed down and dramatised, cause I actually lost brain cells watching it. I ended up speeding forward and just getting even more frustrated. Thank you for this video tho, I am definitely subscribing. If I was Jenny Han, I would sue lmaooo.

I love the trilogy with all my heart, maybe bc I started reading it when I was younger. Tbh I’m not a big fan of YA romance books but this trilogy mean a lot to me. Anyway, I really REALLY hated the movie everything you said about it I agree with you. I don’t know why until now I’m watching your video bc I was looking for an opinion like this, I mean everyone seems to adore this movie.
I think Noah Centineo isn’t a really good actor, actually he kinda made me feel cringy, every time he said whoawhoa.
The books aren’t perfect but the movie was the worst🤢

FINALLY SOMEONE WHO AGREES WITH ME! I hated the book to movie adaptation because LJ's sarcasm was literally my favorite part of her character. I actually love YA novels and love romance YA as well but I feel like the changes made for the film were so incredibly unnecessary and did not make any logical sense. They cut out so much to make it short that there was no way the characters could have any development and I was utterly disappointed for a book that was a good 8 out of 10 for me this movie was a 2 out of 10.

I have really liked it but I've never compared the book to the movie in this way. I've read it recently. And I have to say you are right. I still like the movie as such and I hope the second one will be even better. But I'm very disappointed from the books, because it's boring and only sometimes has a little suspense but I want to know how it ends, so I keep reading. BTW I really love this video, you are doing really well in comparing the book with the movie. GREAT JOB :)

Just because you think children are dumb it doesn't mean their all DUMB. When I was 8 I already recognize emotions and the importance of values. I know when my mother is stress, my sister lonely and father if his dissapointed in me. Tf are u talking about children doesn't know anything? Are you that closeminded when your still a kid

This rant is so bias and closeminded, that only idiots can understand and relate to. I can't figure out if your just joking or seeking some attention. If your making a rant you should start searching first if this things are possible outside your comfortzone. Not because you think your rant is very worth watching. So excuse me better watch better rant than your shit..

SN: Not a fan of the book or movie or anyone in the movie

Omg thank you! I finally watch this movie and was so disappointed. Everyone who talks about it seems to love it but there were too many plot points that didn't make sense for the point in the story where they occured, or weren't satisfactorily resolved. Not to mention how poorly the movie conveyed that these characters were supposedly developing feelings for each other. It was all together a letdown of a movie

Let’s just remember that this movie was “BASED” on the book. Now the word based does not mean was written word for word from the book, but a general gist of the movie. Some characters who didn’t have the biggest impact on the story were not included, for instance, Miss Rothschilde. There were some parts in the movie that we can all agree were a sketchy, and not well done. Just remember this is a Netflix movie we are talking about, and if you’ve seen the movies (specifically rom coms) they produce, they’re not always the best. To be honest I didn’t care for most of your points, I found the movie to be fun, and a good summary of the book. Like many books made into movies, the books tend to have more detail than others.
