My daughter didn't have her green card. The navy allowed her to enlist. Three months later she was a citizen in 2012.

When the new administration take over, green card based on marriage will be changed or almost impossible to get. Watch out

That's one of the reasons why the Roman Empire fell: by allowing non-romans to join their military. It's not a good idea to allow non-citizens to join the armed forces. Citizenship first, then anything else.
