I was just talking to my sister today about how f***ing incredible it was to grow up in Austin, including theWaylon/Willie/Kris shows on Town Lake every year. I think it was held for about 4 years. I just remember that it was surreal. I was told that they had closed Armadillo WHQ long before that, and Willie needed an outlet. That city is still magical. And Willie / ACL / ACL Music Fest, all helped make it so.
