Legend, what else can you say?
ОтветитьReminds me of Max Roach a bit in terms of construction. I met Jack in Boston a long time ago.
I like his stuff with John Abercrombie.Check it out.
(I still prefer Elvin Jones,Joe Morello, and Buddy Rich for solos though....sorry to say)
Masterful..has usual!
ОтветитьKeith Carlock cited him as a huge influence. I can hear it very clearly in this video.
ОтветитьIt's all about composing and musicality not rudiments which should serve the music not the other way round, Jack is the ultimate musical drummer a joy to behold.
ОтветитьCool. A Love Supreme solo
ОтветитьBeautiful drum finish and playing :).
Ответитьone of the all time drum masters on the planet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ОтветитьA Love Suprem....
ОтветитьA Drummer Supreme
ОтветитьThis is what it means to be free🙏🏾
ОтветитьThe comments are right on! He really does “talk” though his kit playing. Takes you along so naturally.
ОтветитьTrue art, genuine human expression. So inspiring.
ОтветитьThis has to be the most MUSICAL solo I've ever heard. He is literally TALKING through the kit, which is why i love his playing so much. He was even doing this with Miles back in the day, he just perfected it. Alot to learn here
ОтветитьGreat!! Drummer only musicality
ОтветитьOne of the best improvised drum solos for me. sometimes it’s not just about playing faster than the other guys.... It’s how you tell a story and how you construct something that would sound like one complete thought from beginning to end.
ОтветитьThe most musical drum solo of all time. Jack plays drums like the piano.
ОтветитьOh man what a natural sound!!! Sound!,!!!
ОтветитьWho needs a band when you've got this guy! Yeah, yeah, and once more...YEAH!
ОтветитьThat’s what i call “jack shit!”
ОтветитьThis was true musicality punctuated by monster tom rolls. Great solo.
ОтветитьBest Drummer ever till 50 jears
ОтветитьJack is the GREATEST. SO MUCH MUSICALITY, COORDINATION, SOUL. I LOVE IT. SO INSPIRING
ОтветитьThis isn't very difficult to play , but it's more musical than most of the drummers throwing in very technical stuff . Nice ...also requires some name to it because if you would see someone on the street playing this you'd just say ...yeah this guy got some talent but needs to practise more
ОтветитьJust because he plays similar tune on toms which reminds of double bass pattern , which is by the way very common it doesn't mean he is playing Love supreme . It would be the same if you'd hit two first notes of any symphony, which a child can do , that some snob would say hey he's playing Beethoven
ОтветитьAwesome
ОтветитьThose toms sound terrible, no ?
ОтветитьI've drummed my whole life 67 years old. From North Chicago. Jack DeJohnett. Aghhhhhhh please. He's Savant. A Living Legend and
BOSS. One of Steve Smith's favorites. Mine too.

Jack is unbelievably awesome, I love his Aquarian signature drumheads, they sound fantastic! ❤
ОтветитьBrilliant 🥁👌
ОтветитьMy favorite jazz drummer 🥁
ОтветитьPure joy. Like water.
ОтветитьAmazing how Jack mastered both traditional matched grips..
Ответить🙌🏾🙌🏾
ОтветитьHe plays with a lot of feel
ОтветитьGreat lesson of how to dialog with the drums.
ОтветитьHe is whole band by himself. I met him years ago at a life changing clinic. He spent a lot of time talking about aliens and American Indians. It got way out there. His solos first on piano then drums was truly from the stars. Nobody plays like Jack. Wow!
ОтветитьJack is truly one of my favorite drummers 🎉❤
ОтветитьWonderful!
ОтветитьMy all time favorite drummer! Simply an amazing man.
ОтветитьExcelente 👏👏👏👏👏👏🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🇧🇷👍
Ответитьone of the greatest drummers ever!LOve anything he does especially gateway, anyone from any genre can learn from this man.
ОтветитьI understand why JD is one of Bill Stewart’s favorite drummers
ОтветитьDrums are always happy when they all get to join in the fun; from the largest to the smallest, sorta like children.....
ОтветитьAlways love Jack. One of the greats
Ответитьjack dejohnette is a legend
ОтветитьJack DeJohnette is my favorite drummer of any genre. I wish he'd have been using a more articulate ride on this solo as it would have been nice to hear more stick and less roar. I also found it interesting that he never hit that flanged/sound control cymbal to the right of his ride.
Ответитьa love supreme
