Jimmy Saville, plays with Tots!
Ответитьapart from doors average songs he seems to be overthinking simple songs
ОтветитьShut your gob and play us some Syd Barrett insufferable pillock !
ОтветитьOh Robyn..it's you mate. You're the one whose songs we wish we wrote
ОтветитьMy favorite cover band, Crystal Ship
Wow
Yeah, they do a Doors show, you'd be really impressed, in fact, it goes a little like this
Love me two times, baby
Love me twice today
Love me two times, girl
'Cause I got AIDS
Love me two times, baby
Once for tomorrow
Once cause I got AIDS
Uh, pretty good Jim Morrison impersonation there
I hope those guys have a good sense of humor and don't take us into court
I wish I wrote any song by Robyn. They're ALL nothing short of superb. Thanks for posting.
ОтветитьThere is an interview with Robyn Hitchcock this coming Saturday 10th November 2018 on Cambridge 105 Radio 9 to 11 pm (uk time).Kimberly Rew will also be the studio guest on a show called Rock of Ages.
ОтветитьMy two are Desperado and Who put the bomp
ОтветитьThe Crystal Ship is the best Doors song by far
ОтветитьGreat talent with great taste...
ОтветитьI remember discovering Robyn in the early nineties. His lyrics are excellent. Invisible Hitchcock was the album that reeled me in.
Ответитьheres his face
ОтветитьThe song he mentions is by the band I Was a King and is named "Ferries".
ОтветитьGoing to see Hitchcock in a few hours! He'll be performing at a Chesapeake library.
ОтветитьGreat! Thanks for this.
ОтветитьThe Ghost in You needs a crooner treatment
ОтветитьThe King of the Polka Dot shirt.
ОтветитьAgree with him on Psychedelic Furs, Bryan Ferry (but not that song), and the Doors' Crystal Ship. Still can't find a great song by Robyn.
ОтветитьAlmost completely convinced that Robyn Hitchcock is actually George Harrison in disguise. He's more of a kid brother then the boys in Badfinger
ОтветитьMeg. My bestfriend, listen to him talking about it all. I love you, girl.
ОтветитьAnd what about 'Long Gone,' 'Dark Globe', 'Effervescing Elephant,' 'Lets Split' and 'Lankey?'
ОтветитьGood Robyn Hitchcock
ОтветитьWhat ! No syd. Barrett songs ?
ОтветитьI'm surprised he didn't pick at least one Syd Barrett song.
ОтветитьAll these songs sound like Robyn wrote them!
ОтветитьGrande, imenso Robyn!
ОтветитьReading the comments I came to the conclusion; it's not only me who knows robyn for being a barret's fan, it's everyone
ОтветитьI saw you in Deep Ellum Dallas Texas around 1990.
ОтветитьThe Crystal Ship - well YES.
Ответить"none of which brought happiness, but all of which brought pleasure" <3
Ответить".... love the lights, don't you?". The opening lyrics of 'To turn you on' are sublime... like some sensual cities' night-time lights. Bravo Robyn!!
ОтветитьI feel smarter just listening to this man speak!
ОтветитьTo Turn You On is one of my favorite Ferry songs and very romantic indeed.
ОтветитьI wish I had written Swirling.
ОтветитьGrant Lee Phillips IS a great songwriter. Check out Grant Lee Buffalo - Mighty Joe Moon for proof. Of course so is Robyn!!
ОтветитьAnd I wish I'd written Airscape and Trams of Old London.
ОтветитьRobyn (yes, we're on first name basis ; ) ) has great taste in music. And I love his covers of the Psychedelic Furs and others.
ОтветитьI wish this went on for another hour! Crystal Ship was always one of my fave Doors tunes, it's just so evocative, but also gentle, not one of their rockers, it just steams
slowly full ahead to Avalon or whatever. And Ray's keyboards! So fantastic. C'mon Ray helped cement that goddamned band, as much as JIm, etc. and Robbie.
I saw Tommy Stinson (Replacements) cover Ghost in You last year at a private party. The song broken-down to just chords and lyrics will tell you how grand it is....
ОтветитьGenius
ОтветитьRobyn is truly unique - intelligent, intuitive, empathetic, poetic, mysterious, and shimmeringly musical too. Almost everything he says about these songs one could say about his songs as well.
Every now and then I get on a Robyn Hitchcock jag and feel 'released', and so much better for it.
"None of which brought happiness, but all of which brought pleasure." Is that what he said? I think that is brilliant, and belongs in a book of quotes.
Most of these sound very like Robyn, but not as good. I treasure my double disc of his Dylan covers, which sound very good indeed. Viva Hitchcock!
