Stop LG TV Home Menu Launching on Start Up

Followed this advice to the letter and it DID NOT WORK,home screen and ad content still appear even when turned off in settings, WTF!?

For my C3 that I just purchased in May 2024, the menu is somewhat altered, but knowing there is an option helped me to no longer have to select my computer's input every time I turn on the TV.

This kind of speedy helpful tutorial appearing top of search results is the best of the internet.

This kind of forced interface change annoying millions of users is the worst of capitalism.

I predict most people will just put up with this sheer inconvenience and absorb a few crap ads along the way. This kind of move should be illegal. There would be some out if we could boycott but every organisation is at it.

THANK YOU!!! oh god, ever since i bought this TV ive been tortured by this henious and buggy WebOS crappy thing that just won't remember which device i was using when i turned the TV off. Also when i turned it on, it defaulted to this screen and got stuck without letting me change into my HDMI connected devices. Now it does what it was supposed to do from the begining, default to monitor function and be a slave for my PS5 and Roku!

I have a question I want the Home Screen to come up when I turn the tv on not the input/hdmi how do I fixed this I’ve done the opposite of what you suggested in this video and it didn’t work

My LG TV started popping this up recently every time I switch it on, even though I only ever use the tv as a monitor for my console and have it set to HDM1 by default.

When I click on General, there is no choice for System.

Any suggestion to have it lock to a single input? I only use HDMI 3. It shouldn't be a process of setting it up every time I turn it on. I am def running through this tut for both of my Samsung TVs at the very least.

Remember when if you just wanted to watch channel 6, you'd put the TV on channel 6 then turn your TV on and it'd be on channel 6? Now you have to wait for boot ups, ads, wading through menus, oops... mandatory system update, ugh, all of the settings were changed, wait - what is my password??? Now the wi-fi won't even connect??!?!??!!! I'll just read a book.
