I wouldn’t say Gigi was delusional but too idealistic. She wanted that Harlequin novel Disney fairytale romance. I feel like the person in charge of any relationship is the one who is the most honest about their feelings about the other person and what they want from the relationship.

Every girl needs to watch this movie bc it’s so true !! Coming from a 46 year old woman who dated until I met my husband when I was 26 !! This movie is 100% relatable !

i hate bradly's and scarjo's charactes so much in this movie. when we watched this movie, one of my brothers reckoned that people cheat because sometimes you meet the best person for you when you're already committed. he said you haven't met every single person in the world when you made your choice and you will keep meeting lots more new people after you've made a commitment. it's not at all unlikely that one of them could turn out to be the dream man/woman you never thought you had until you meet them irl. you'll be miserable in your current relationship knowing a potentially better one is just within your reach, so people reach. while it makes sense in the pursuit of personal happiness, cheating still feels deplorable.

what my brother said kinda stuck with me so i told my boyfriend if he ever meets someone he likes more than me, i want to be told right away. i want to break up before he makes his move on her. be free and get the hell out of my life. i didn't tell him this part though but i'm thinking if he's interested in pursuing another while he's with me, i'm not gonna waste energy in fighting to make him stay. it's not worth it to fight for a continuing relationship with someone who already has a strong attraction and intention to pursue somebody else.

The movie is very realistic. The purpose of life is to fall in love and pair up. That is how women really are in private with their friends. People talk so much BS online but in real life we all just want to fall in love with a a man who is a real man.

The great ginnifer Goodwin is the one you don’t recognize. For those that are not aware, she plays the one and only Snow White on the popular abc show once upon a time. She married the man who plays Prince Charming in real life. She also played the wife of a polygamist family on the popular hbo show big love alongside great actors like bill Paxton, Choe sevigny and Amanda seyfried. And she did some Hollywood movies such as Mona Lisa smile along side Julia Robert’s, zootopia as the main character, the rabbit cop. And she played Joaquine Phoenixs first wife in walk the line. The true story of Johnny cash. I can’t think of anything else at the top of my head other than the show why women kill which ended in 2020 I believe. But I recommend the show once upon a time. It’s amazing. Except for the last season.

The characters of Jen Aniston and Ben Affleck really annoy me. Especially her. I always wanted to marry as well but I would never throw away my relationship because of it. My bf and I have been together for 18 years now. We have two kids (planned, not by accident - meaning we both decided to make that commitment) and basically live by the vows you exchange when you marry. Only we are not married. Why can't you be committed to each other without proclaiming it in front of everyone you know, the state and/or church? Isn't love and commitment better proved by living it instead of saying it in front of a bunch of people? Is it worth it to throw years away?

It's great for her that he agreed to it in the end but let's be real, he does it because he doesn't want to loose her and knows that this is more important to her than the love he was always showing to her.

Suggesting Serendipity as your next rom-com. One of my faves. John Cusack. Kate Beckinsale. You guys will LOVE IT

I feel like I'm way in the minority here but I wanted Gigi to end up with Bill, the nice guy at the end! He was sweet, stable, and already liked her. She didn't have to push herself on him or wait for him to realize he liked her like Alex did.

New Year's Eve, was another Gary Marshall movie, with storylines that link to each other.

The thirsting over Scar Jo is completely justified. Shoot even I would've dived in that pool and I'm completely straight. She's gorgeous 😍

I don't think Affleck's character grew. He was already an amazing partner. He just realized that some gestures mean more to some than others. I love this movie

If you guys liked this one and you're fans of Justin Long, I recommend "Going the Distance." He co-stars with Drew Barrymore, Jim Gaffigan, Jason Sudeikis, Charlie Day, Christina Applegate, Ron Livingston... basically another stellar cast. It's a really great rom-com.

I loved this movie as a kid. I totally understood where Jennifer Aniston's character was coming from being upset after 7 years of no engagement. Now, years later, I just got engaged on my and my boyfriend's (now fiance) 15 year anniversary. Yes, 15 years lol at some point you have to figure out if the title or the person is more important to you. If the title is more important, maybe you don't need to be with the person you're waiting to take that step. I'm glad she kinda realizes the relationship and love are more important, even if they got engaged at the end.
