The Duke players shrunk in the second half at crunch time. So much so that Scheyer stopped running offense and was simply giving Flagg the ball at the top of the key to go one and one. He scored to tie the game and he scored to retake the lead, they went to the well too many times and get burnt. Kneuppel didn't show up(5-20), Proctor, a veteran, shrunk. They resorted to playing hero ball with a 17 year old. Duke lost this game more than KU won it. They're the youngest team in D1 so they may learn from this...
ОтветитьWomp womp
ОтветитьDuke is tough... gonna be hard to beat later in the year. That D was ferocious
ОтветитьIt's amazing Duke kept this game this close; their current defensive philosophy is grab, slap, scratch, pull, push. How do they lose a game where the refs did their best to help them win, lol?
Good team, but until they can actually, consistently guard, it would seem they're likely to be outscored- especially when the other team has the length to match.
Jon has to do better in the second half .. we are always stagnant in the 2nd half with no adjustments smh 🤦
ОтветитьIf i was Maulachi's agent I'd be advising him to shut it down. a weird stress facture injury could be $100m injury and he just looks fragile like an young deer
ОтветитьDespite the injuries, if Duke could have hit shots, 3's I think they could have won. They were in a drought. I would have liked to have seen Proctor with the ball in the last possessions. Proctor can find people and he can attack the basket and create his own shot.
Very good analysis on Foster, I agree. I'm not surprised at how Duke fans are responding to this loss. They act like this every season
To the guy saying it was a self inflicted loss due to missing open shots, why are you not taking into account that Jackson Robinson was missing shots he usually makes? If he was his normal self instead of having1 point UK wins comfortably.
ОтветитьThese comments perfectly express how being a Duke fan in KY is. Rarely do any of their fans have any sense.
ОтветитьThe coaching move was Pope putting Andrew Carr at the 5
Ответитьkentucky beat duke duke didnt beat themselves fam come on a team thats never played together before beat the almighty duke an cooper flagg
ОтветитьDuke fans cry cry cry 😭
😂😂😂😂😂😂
@Zion, you seem like the only one who knows wtf you're talking about🤣🙌🙌👏👏👏👏
ОтветитьUK fan base as bad or worse. It's crazy lol
ОтветитьSo Kentucky doesn't shoot well and it's Duke's superior defense, on the flip side Duke doesn't shoot well and that's also because of Duke. As far as Duke was winning the whole time, the only time a win counts is 0 on the clock. The first couple of minutes it was back and forth, then Kentucky went up by 8. Duke makes there run and go up by 9 by half. At half Kentucky immediately cuts the lead in half and from then on its a boxing match, back and forth trading jabs. Duke can't pull away and Kentucky can't get the lead. Say whatever you want about cramping and injuries it comes down to coaching. One coach had faith in his entire roster to play as a unit while the other had zero faith in his bench and counted on two 17 year old kids to take on an entire team. They lost their legs, they were pouring sweat, and that led to 2 costly turnovers and being boxed out on a rebound. Duke did look good in this game but to say they didn't get beat they lost it on their own is ridiculous and extremely bias. This was an great game with two different styles. You need to be concerned with getting the pups some help because the team that played last night has to much talent to rely on 2 players.
ОтветитьSome of a yall need to just go back n look at the shots yes Kentucky missed open shots too but Duke missed more open shots were we good defensively yes they shot 5-5 from 3 to start n we still outscored them in the first half if we hit a handful of more 3s we win this game it absolutely came down to shots made n missed

ОтветитьOh please these tired excuses. 2 points.
1. Pope outcoached Scheyer really bad in this game. Scheyer knew it too, everyone did. Pope is on another level. I haven’t been all that impressed with Scheyer since taking over for Coach K. I don’t think he was really ready but K wanted to maintain control. Scheyer is getting a big push from Nike and Coach K still has control. Over the next few years we’ll see what Scheyer is. And 2, Knipple is the worst Duke flopper I’ve seen since Paulus. It’s pathetic, he doesn’t even try and play most of the time he’s just trying to flop. It’s coached as Scheyer was on the unathletic Duke teams before the OAD, where he learned to flop by coach K and he’s teaching it to his players. College needs to add the flop rule bad. If Duke did that in the NBA they’d be getting technicals. So if you take away all the horrible flopping in the first half, Kentucky might win this by double digits. Something no one wants to talk about. This is why people don’t respect Duke. It’s chicken shit basketball and it’s cheating. People actually respect UNC Kansas and UK. They don’t respect Duke and that’s why. Nobody wants to watch that chicken shit flopping basketball. Clean it up or go home.
Duke choked???? Smh. No, Duke got beat last night, they didn’t beat themselves. Duke is young without much experience and KY is mostly veterans. What a title “choke.” Shame shame
Ответить
