I love having a drafty house, new fresh air is constantly being pulled in, yeah you gotta cool it or heat it, but it's fresh air that YOU breathe so stop being a cheapskate and crack open a window or two!

Seems like a simple misapplication to prove in court. You can tell it’s on to thick just by looking at it. It’s offgassing for sure.

This is on the builder and contractor. That they are paying nothing to fix this shows just how broken American housing and its market has become. And this isn’t unusual. Remember when a home builder in PA poured thousands of bad foundations costing homeowners millions of dollars?

We had a bad batch in my basement, the remedy was to scrape the affected area and dispose of the uncured foam. Spraying over it is ridiculous.

Brother. No Mix means that the B Side doesn’t have to be agitated. Our rigs have augers that agitate the Mix B product inside the tote on the rig.

Years ago when this stuff got popular I thought people must be insane to trust this product. More bad stories than good no matter who installed it. I couldn’t imagine all this just to have a novel insulation product. Everyone should watch this before using it.

Spray foam tends to hide termite infestations. I don't know if it's changed but some insurance carries won't insure you if you have the spray foam.

Open cell is excellent 👌 but closed cell must be applied in 1/2" intervals and allowed to completely cure before applying the next coat or you'll create a chemical reaction than can self ignite! I won't apply closed cell foam on anything and have always doubted its validity. Open cell is a miracle yet its only been used for a couple of decades so the deterioration is always 👌 in question. So far? Open cell is miraculous!!! I love y'all kiddo 💓

Spray foam is supposed to have fire retardant added into it, but after some time it can actually turn into an accelerant. Do a google search for "Pickwick Landing State Park maintenance building destroyed by fire". One of the employees was using a grinder, and a spark ignited the insulation. Fire ran up the wall and onto the ceiling before they could grab the extinguisher. By the time the fire department could get their engine on scene from less than a quarter mile away, the entire building was fully engulfed.

This fellow and his wife obviously put a lot of thought into building their new home. Who would have ever thought there would be a problem with the insulation!

The interior finish carpentry, woodwork, floors, doors, wood shutters on the windows, etc. look absolutely beautiful.

I sure hope they won’t need to get to the insulation in the exterior walls. 🙄

I live in a cold section of northern california and spray foam is a complete waste of time and money. The heat and cold caused it to delaminate from the surface and it's completely useless. Not to mention a Breeding ground for mold And mildew. Plus if you ever have to repair anything on your roof or walls it is a complete mess to get it out of the way. Foam is toxic, dangerous and it doesn't work.

I don’t think it’s a good idea to use closed cell foam over top of open cell spray foam. Won’t it just trap moisture? And what about the dewpoint inSide the open cell foam?

Stop spraying the roof. Why is it that for 60+ years you need to vent your attic until spray foam came along and now you can completely encapsulate the house with no problems? Wrong, here is exactly what happens. Spray the walls, save money and blow in the attic.

Insurance shouldn't have to pay for this to begin with, when insurance pays all home owners have to pay, mine just went up last month and I have no claims, but I gotta pay for everyone elses claims..... Glad insurance does deny claims, my insurance would be double if they didn't.

Liked the video. Don't like the seemingly incompetent and dishonest conduct of his insulation contractor or the foam manufacturer who has simply stonewalled *their own paying customer*. Kind of pointless to also express a dislike for the insurance co. as that entire industry nowadays operates as legalized and highly-profitable fraud. They've gotten lawmakers to mandate that we carry insurance even though there's obviously no real mandate that legitimate claims are honored. Absolute ghouls.
