We are getting ready to metal house in Florida I should I look for to prevent any problems
ОтветитьI love having a drafty house, new fresh air is constantly being pulled in, yeah you gotta cool it or heat it, but it's fresh air that YOU breathe so stop being a cheapskate and crack open a window or two!
ОтветитьSeems like a simple misapplication to prove in court. You can tell it’s on to thick just by looking at it. It’s offgassing for sure.
ОтветитьWhat we need regulations in the states!!! I’m shocked….
ОтветитьThis is on the builder and contractor. That they are paying nothing to fix this shows just how broken American housing and its market has become. And this isn’t unusual. Remember when a home builder in PA poured thousands of bad foundations costing homeowners millions of dollars?
ОтветитьDon't know why anyone would put that crap in there house..
ОтветитьWe had a bad batch in my basement, the remedy was to scrape the affected area and dispose of the uncured foam. Spraying over it is ridiculous.
ОтветитьBrother. No Mix means that the B Side doesn’t have to be agitated. Our rigs have augers that agitate the Mix B product inside the tote on the rig.
ОтветитьI wish I knew who this homeowner is. I would love to try to help out.
ОтветитьNever use spray foam, always use wool!!!!!!
ОтветитьYears ago when this stuff got popular I thought people must be insane to trust this product. More bad stories than good no matter who installed it. I couldn’t imagine all this just to have a novel insulation product. Everyone should watch this before using it.
ОтветитьThis must be DR Horton builder.
ОтветитьDoing my garage what is better closed or open?
ОтветитьSpray foam tends to hide termite infestations. I don't know if it's changed but some insurance carries won't insure you if you have the spray foam.
ОтветитьWow its almost like ive been saying for 15 years, its a BAD idea...
ОтветитьOpen cell is excellent 👌 but closed cell must be applied in 1/2" intervals and allowed to completely cure before applying the next coat or you'll create a chemical reaction than can self ignite! I won't apply closed cell foam on anything and have always doubted its validity. Open cell is a miracle yet its only been used for a couple of decades so the deterioration is always 👌 in question. So far? Open cell is miraculous!!! I love y'all kiddo 💓
ОтветитьMud hut master race
ОтветитьSpray foam is toxic.
ОтветитьSpray foam is supposed to have fire retardant added into it, but after some time it can actually turn into an accelerant. Do a google search for "Pickwick Landing State Park maintenance building destroyed by fire". One of the employees was using a grinder, and a spark ignited the insulation. Fire ran up the wall and onto the ceiling before they could grab the extinguisher. By the time the fire department could get their engine on scene from less than a quarter mile away, the entire building was fully engulfed.
ОтветитьIf you have ever seen that foam burn you would never want it in your house. Go with rock wool, doesn’t burn!
ОтветитьCheck out AC Infinity they have carbon air filters that are refillable
ОтветитьMy home was built in 1983-1984. It has old school insulation and no radon. I'll stick with the tried and true methods
ОтветитьLooks like cancer from the inside
Yuk
This fellow and his wife obviously put a lot of thought into building their new home. Who would have ever thought there would be a problem with the insulation!
The interior finish carpentry, woodwork, floors, doors, wood shutters on the windows, etc. look absolutely beautiful.
I sure hope they won’t need to get to the insulation in the exterior walls. 🙄
These spray foams off gas for the entirety of their life span!.. and the chemicals used such as isocynates and mercury as the catalyst are extremly toxic!!!
Ответитьuh hello you dont insulate the roof interior surface?>???? you insulate the ceiling of the lower floor. wtf kind of dumb ass build is that
ОтветитьIs this an encapsulated attic?
ОтветитьBrand new rich guy house problems.
ОтветитьI live in a cold section of northern california and spray foam is a complete waste of time and money. The heat and cold caused it to delaminate from the surface and it's completely useless. Not to mention a Breeding ground for mold And mildew. Plus if you ever have to repair anything on your roof or walls it is a complete mess to get it out of the way. Foam is toxic, dangerous and it doesn't work.
ОтветитьI have a new home sitting currently as it is tied up in a lawsuit with the spray foam company. The longer it sits the worse it gets. 10 months into the lawsuit and no end in sight.
ОтветитьI don’t think it’s a good idea to use closed cell foam over top of open cell spray foam. Won’t it just trap moisture? And what about the dewpoint inSide the open cell foam?
ОтветитьI Would Never put that in the Attic Under Shingles. 😢😮. If you have a Leak you Can't find it.😮
ОтветитьHoly cow look at the sheer amount of spray foam all over that house!!!
ОтветитьIt's not a great product....infact it's actually garbage! Any mantainance contractor who's had to come in and do ANY SERVICE OF ANY SYSTEM BEHIND THAT BULLSHIT WILL TELL YOU....Then you got these jabronis applying this poison telling us how good it is 🤣 🤣 🤣
ОтветитьHad no idea about this foam and thought it was the way to go. Now I realize it’s crap. I will never use foam, it’s just another way to not pay labor cost
ОтветитьHumidity is not a big problem during foam spraying!
ОтветитьStop spraying the roof. Why is it that for 60+ years you need to vent your attic until spray foam came along and now you can completely encapsulate the house with no problems? Wrong, here is exactly what happens. Spray the walls, save money and blow in the attic.
Ответитьlol rich dummy problems.
ОтветитьI use to install crawl space liners/vap barriers that is such a shite job wtf.
ОтветитьInsurance shouldn't have to pay for this to begin with, when insurance pays all home owners have to pay, mine just went up last month and I have no claims, but I gotta pay for everyone elses claims..... Glad insurance does deny claims, my insurance would be double if they didn't.
ОтветитьLiked the video. Don't like the seemingly incompetent and dishonest conduct of his insulation contractor or the foam manufacturer who has simply stonewalled *their own paying customer*. Kind of pointless to also express a dislike for the insurance co. as that entire industry nowadays operates as legalized and highly-profitable fraud. They've gotten lawmakers to mandate that we carry insurance even though there's obviously no real mandate that legitimate claims are honored. Absolute ghouls.
ОтветитьStachybotrys kills people and causes cancer and first it kills your dogs. The family needs to get out of it.
ОтветитьSounds like at this point you should just tear it down and rebuild the whole house
ОтветитьLol only around windows and doors only. Houses flex and shrink, foam doesn't really like that. Never seen a house with insulation directly against the underlayment that didn't have problems. Carpenter for 18 years.
Ответитьdo not ever use spray foam in your house if you’ve ever done construction and you’ve seen it after 10 to 12 years you don’t want it.
ОтветитьMillions of homes got this .
Ответить
