Best intro.
ОтветитьThe letters are said to be later 18th and 19th century propagandistic and deliberately crude retellings of an original correspondence between cossacks and the ottoman Sultan. Some Historians say even the original letters are a forgery and just anti-ottoman propaganda. But then some say they're authentic.
ОтветитьI don't think you heard the part where he said "screw yer oan ma"
ОтветитьThere is a version read by Olivia Colman and Ade Edmondson and much as I love PC and MB, they rocked it better.
ОтветитьNice reposte. Eloquent.
ОтветитьThe Cossack response to the The Sultan is believed to be a Polish literary forgery of the real letter released as anti Ottoman propaganda. There are actual letters between The Sultan and The Cossacks. Peter and Matt are great as always 👋
ОтветитьThis is my favorite letter ever written. I have a friend from that region in Ukraine and I assure you they’ve changed very little. SLAVA UKRAINI!
Ответитьthey always say that after getting 100k go on patron.
ОтветитьNot sure I'd fancy being the postman in those days , absolutely hilarious .Matt was just the right degree of pompous and Peter enjoyed himself in true Scots fashion .
ОтветитьToast of London Muppet !
ОтветитьI have to go and watch some Twelfth Doctor stories now.
ОтветитьSadly, its a forgery. The ‘letter’ began as a joke circulating as a pamphlet among polish nobles in the late 1600s and gradually, through a long period of chinese whispers and cross-translations around eastern europe, it transformed into what it is today, although its ‘final’ form was set in the late 1800s.
Ответить🐻😮
ОтветитьMate you’ve got to add ‘What they do in the Shadows’ Matt berry is in it it’s SO original in fact I might watch some tonight
ОтветитьPeter should just have responded with Exterminate, Exterminate, Exterminate!!
ОтветитьYour ghastly is amazing.
ОтветитьMATT BERRY'S CURRENT WORK IS IN "WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS"👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼😎
PETER CAPALDI IS GENIUS AS MALCOLM!!!😵😵😵
Zaporozhians?
ОтветитьIt may not be a real letter, but it's still a great piece of writing. There is a famous painting by Ilya Repin depicting the event called "Reply of the Zaporozhian Cossacks". Worth a Googling. It's what I see in my mind's eye when hearing it.
ОтветитьCAPALDI WAS LAST "DR. WHO" !!!🤑
SEE WHERE "THE THICK OF IT" ORIGINATED...SEE "IN THE LOOP" with great James Galdolfini!!!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
COSAKS, YES. BERRY'S TYPE? NOPE!!!!
ОтветитьPeter C was also Doctor Who
Ответитьbest into yet. ahh we are simple.
check out bottom live on stage,
is that a shipwrecked bunch of moral free, marauding cannibals oh? (a taste)
It's very nearly word for word.
ОтветитьDo you really think that 'fuck your mother' is a modern expression? I'd wager it goes back 10,000 years.
ОтветитьU gotta react to bad education it's as good as the inbetweeners
ОтветитьGod, yeah, exatly.
To have a time machine, literally just only, to be able to watch, observe, see everything that piques our historic interests.
Just to be able to literally see it, any moment in the past anywhere, if I could get a Genies wishing lamp, that'd be 1 of mine, well, past, present & future if I had That kind of choice.
I'm using that next time my neighbours dog shites on my doorstep 😅
ОтветитьPlease do Taika's Speeding Ticket Letter!!! It's the best Boomer
Ответитьwonderful great stuff
Ответитьking boomer fellow muppetier here , love your intros
ОтветитьPeter Capaldi channeling Malcolm Tucker - The Thick of It is hopefully on your watchlist somewhere.
ОтветитьNow that intro is great :) Funny

Seen this loads of times and I'm already laughing before KB clicks on the vid to start it!
ОтветитьI swear King Boomer is getting younger since the baby was born, is this another Benjamin Button moment
ОтветитьAhm.. Am I the only one thinking "Captain Flashheart without his wig"? Yes? No? Maybe? 🤔
Either way, could someone please tell him that there is something that seems to have died on his head and seems have been stuck there eversince.. 😁
There is a series called Ladies of Letters where 2 LEGENDS of stage and screen Anne Reid and Maureen Lipman exchange a series of ever more bizare passive agressive letters until they both end up in prison together. Well worth a watch.
ОтветитьBritish comedian Joe Lycett is famous for writing hilarious complaint letters to big corporations. You should check out some video of him reading them (and the replies he receives) out. BTW, when talking about historic fighting word message exchanges my favourite is when Philip of Macedonia sent a message to the Spartans saying “If I invade, you will be destroyed.” The Spartans simply replied "Yeah, if.”
ОтветитьI enjoyed your intro! 😂
ОтветитьPIG!
PIG!
PIG!
😆😆😆
Olivia Colman's reading of that letter is much better.
