I’ve always wanted to drop out of school, but yet my parents will never allow me to be me discover who I am or do anything to make me discover what I’m supposed to do on this planet School stresses me out I can never discover what I’m capable of. Use my gifts to show the world or anything that makes me special. It’s like they usually care about my grades more than they care about me school grades are useless. I’ve discovered that school grades do not defy you. I realize you can still be the smartest person even if you have bad grades you can be the most successful person even without grades you can be the most talented person even without grades life is too short for all of us and it’s our job to make sure we live it through until we die, so use your time wisely

My area the age to get a job and drop out is 16. I dropped out and I only regret it for one reason. I dropped out because of mental health, I had a abusive childhood so school became a safe place but as i yk switched grades and it got harder it started to weigh me down to the point I couldn't go to my classes I was either in the library or guidance because I was having multiple panic attacks a day at school but out of school I didn't have one for days. We're on summer break and Its been two months since the last day of school, I hadn't had a anxiety or panic attack in almost a week which is huge for me but once we got to school to sign the withdrawal papers I instantly had a panic attack you could physically see my hands shaking. I regret it because I want that high school experience, going to prom, going to football games with friends, getting a boyfriend and walking through the halls together. But my anxiety was so bad I couldn't.

I’m 17 in 11th I’m thinking about dropping out to work in construction and make a side business it’s me my lil bros and my grand parents living of my grandpas ssc check in worked all summer in the feilds and construction started helping pay bills and food now schools back and there’s no money coming in and I’m analyzing the chess board rn my family is depending on me whether they tell me or not ik it’s up to me

I dont think I learned anything in the high school classroom it was all self studying. It's been the same for me in college. I don't even show up to my classes and have a 3.6GPA in engineering, only because of attentence grade. I wish there was just a test to get a job instead of wasting time and money getting a stupid degree. School is innefficient and a waste of life.

I dropped out of high school, and I’m about to enter college to learn stuff that actually matters to me. This gap is really awkward but once I’m in college all the downsides will disappear and I’ll have given myself a whole year and a half to grow as a person and a professional. Screw high school, man.

Not dropping out of school can be genuinely traumatic for the child. Speaking as a councillor, i can say that it is far easier to fix an education later than to put together a child who has been traumatised by education.
School works great for some, but not for all.

well depends what school system and how it's treating your life and the people there - like some people who are in highschool are 19+ years while in other countries like UK people finish school at what 15-17 years old

School from grade 7 upwards was a sheer waste of precious years of my life

I missed graduation day on purpose because I had stage fright and no one to attend

It all depends but the most important thing is to have the courage to inform your parents before dropping out
