5.115 A beam is being designed to be supported and loaded as shown. (a) Using singularity functions, find the magnitude and location of the maximum bending moment in the beam. (b) Knowing that the allowable normal stress for the steel to be used is 24 ksi, find the most economical wide-flange shape that can be used.
