The Slow Learner’s Shocking Experience with a 16-Year-Old Filipina

Wow! I've heard stuff, seen stuff, paid the price for stuff, but, wow!

Living in Cambodia several years ago, I once had a new "friend" spend the night then, next day, brings her 17 year old daughter over to hang out. Right away I'm thinking that I'm going to need a 2-bedroom, if this relationship with the mother becomes a longer term thing. Fortunately, she asked to "borrow" $200usd. She gave me a nicely typed letter that explained why she needed the money(mother in hospital). Despite having been watching your videos for years & having left my estranged Filipina wife of three decades in Canada, I decided to be an idiot and see if she was going to play me, with the thought that losing $200 is better than losing much more over time. Of course, things went as expected.

A couple of weeks later I stop to use an atm & see an Aussie I'd seen around town, walking toward the atm, with this same woman. The woman saw me & hid behind a car, so I went up to the Aussie, told him briefly about my own experience, then walked away. Sometimes, aI think that that was a dumb move because the woman could've been vindictive.

One shouldn't get their knickers in a twist, however, when one considers the pittance that the average Filipina/Thai/Cambodian/etc is paid in a legit job, and that it is expected by the family, friends, and neighbours that we pay for building houses, etc. . Doesn't mean we should do it, just no point in being shocked, disappointed, or angry.

People like this do not change. Unfortunately it is a big waste of time trying to do so. I know from prior experiences. I always believed that people could see what is right would influence people to be better but I always found out it was worse than I thought. So much behind the scenes that are totally unacceptable. I have yet to see someone like this actually change. Even when they became older.

If you can see this happening to him why didn't you stop him or at least correct him about his mistakes before he continued on to the fourth one???

Your guy is not in any trouble for THAT. He IS in trouble for his other stupidities. But, get your basic Philippines laws and facts right.

What he did with the 16 year old was not illegal. The age of consent in the Philippines is 16. Upgraded from 12 in 2022. Nevertheless, this guy was still in big trouble because her relatives would certainly kill him.

You have to be super careful. Some of these gals plan this stuff. They'll blackmail you after you sleep with them and threaten to call the police. This happened to an associate of mine. He hooked up with a freelancer and she threatened him if he didn't give her 20,000 pesos. She advised him she was 17 (so she said). So he had no choice and gave her the money. But she didn't just take his money, she called him a pervert and to get out of her country. She made a scene and got really nasty and humiliated him. Scared the crap out of him...

They spring this stuff up on you and cause you to hand them the money they are demanding as a reaction. They're professional extortionists. Stick with older gals. At least in their 20s+ and ID them always...

This is painful to hear, honestly really goofy and dumb. I'm an expat in central America who has made mistakes and seen and heard countless others. Just last week I saw a newbie at a local watering hole acting like everyone in there is his friend, and they were happy to oblige. Others come and want to be the big shot, make a big splash. Me, I met a very dangerous woman early on, very abusive, master manipulator, very poisonous, and it took me some time to rid myself of her poison. Minors are a GIANT no.
