Honestly I like Carrey a lot but this for me is a cut above all his other performances I've had the pleasure of seeing, in a genuinely daring and complex picture that deals exhuberantly with some very dark subjects.

People went into it expecting another screwball comedy and what they got was a dark comedy, peoples expectations is what made this a critical and commercial failure. But this film is up there as one of Carreys best films ,im glad it gets alot more love these days than it did back then. Its a Classic.
