Tbh, the dynamic between Hifumi and Makoto would be unbeatable if Hifumi were to become a Phantom Thief.
Also, they are more akin to being 2 sides of the same coin, and without a doubt would be best friends with each other.

Here's why they synergize together:
- The canon interaction of Hifumi and Makoto instantly clicking together despite not knowing each other until they met.
- Makoto is target/goal-oriented*, hence her *unique confidant passives are all about identifying the enemy's ability.
- Hifumi is *team-oriented*, hence her confidant abilities are all about team switching, follow-ups, and easy escaping.

- Both resemble/identify as being a queen: Makoto literally is called the "Queen" in the PT, while Hifumi IS the Queen of the Shogi Board.
- Both of their goals are to push the enemy into a corner: Makoto having the skill of CHECKMATE which is a game-changing mass debilitate move, and Hifumi's goal is to checkmate her enemy in shogi.
- Hifumi requires Charm 3 to interact with while Makoto requires Knowledge 3 to start her confidence.
- To max Hifumi, you need Knowledge 5. To max Makoto, you need Charm 5.

So with all listed, the only conclusion is that... They would be a good lesbian couple.

I'm not gonna lie, when I first played Persona 5, I had no plan on entering a romantic relationship with any of the women (unless I had to get the trophy). Then I met Hifumi, and now I can't imagine a gameplay where I don't enter a relationship with her

She should have been a thief as she was perfect for "bless" user. 1) you literally meet her in a church all the time. 2) she learns Shogi skills from a priest. 3) she's named after a Christian Shogi player. 4) we could have had a true HD version of Helel as ultimate Star persona and Lucifer ultimate judgment, restoring the balance of the universe

As much as I agree with all of the points, as someone who dated her blind on my playthrough I can say Hifumi's Relationship was disappointingly underwhelming.

For me I just went with I felt was a good match. Joker has a distinguished and mature look to him in appearance and Hifumi has the elegant and mature look to her. So I just let the ship sail from there. Plus not yo mention it's my headcanon that Hifumi taught Joker how to swim in their Valentine's date making Hifumi the canon love interest of Joker.

When I finally started playing PS5R, I had to start off with romancing Hifumi.

Graceful, is the Star social link, confidant abilties break Personas need for appropriate team composition, and shes gorgeous...clearly the best girl... Although I also romanced Yukiko in P4g so i definitely have a type...
