If they just stopped releasing heads and instead just released helmets this wouldn't be a discussion. My Ultramarine could be named Lisa for all I care. Most armor wouldn't be changed anyways and most of the female form would probably disappear due to all the all the fiddling with genes and extra stuff they put into space marines.

Well you can’t have female space marines as the primaries were male. However Custodies are hand crafted so why not. But bit odd we have not seen one in the heresy lore

Okay so seeing as there's female custodes now or always do you think are going to get like male sororitas or anything since you're going to be inclusive and that means you know both parties get to have representation not just one gets something all the time because they're complaining

Is that the game envy handle? I've been thinking about getting one because I realize I still don't use The handles I have very much because I tend to like holding the model, apparently. If it is, does it happen to have magnets in its base like the red grass one does? If not does it look like it would be easy to mod?

I can understand the comment on the breastplate because it is actually pretty silly. My thought on the hips it though is That if you don't exaggerate something then the character still isn't going to look very female... It doesn't help that they decided to go top knot with 80% of the armies... So it's not like you can use ponytails and such to distinguish female characters. Yes you can distinguish with facial features but some of us aren't very good at painting faces, So at this scale it only gets you so far. Heck I've even gone so far as to say is that I don't bother to paint faces outside of giving them a wash in 40k. So is there a compromise on this one? Something that would make women happy about not being overly sexualized (at least it's not that war games company that makes nudie pinup models for 40k) while still finding some way to make it obvious that you're dealing with a woman in armor?

Someone recently referred me to the comment that Tony Stark makes at the beginning of the first iron Man movie to the female soldier. However, I don't actually have particularly strong feelings on this... I'm just happy that female models aren't being introduced to the game.

You might not realize this but some of the chaos cultists including those in Blackstone fortress are female. I didn't realize it initially until I looked very closely at the models.

From a lower perspective I think this is a good "change". I'd also like to say that leading up to the latest guard release I had bought every special black library female guard model because I'm trying to encourage GW to make more female models. I don't even play guard there sitting in their boxes in my pile of... Potential.

The addition of female custodes is not the issue, the pazy and hamfusted waybit was done is not good for a lore setting built on lore. The addition of female custodes should have came with a lore book and a thought out explination. The lore deserves better and Femstodes deserve a named hero.

Terrible change imo. I know GW wont give a toss anyway but wont give them another penny. On top of that the rules for custodes were terrible and the models are increasingly overpriced in a time of global recession.

After being blocked for the hundredth time for criticizing this retcon only from the point of view of bad writing, I got sick of Warhammer 40K If I can no longer criticize the product I spend money on, I don't want to have anything to do with it, that's what this retcon represents to me.

I just think that retcons of this kind are not a problem for a board game, but they're not compatible with other media like books or movies, you can't take women out of one faction like they did years ago and then reintroduce them into another In both cases, pretending that nothing happened It's just a bad way to write.
