SKAGIT CASTING FOR PIKE!

couldn't you use an 8weight spey? I fish a 13'8" Beulah platinum spey and can cast big 5-6 inch long heavily weighted intruders on big t14-t17 tips. ihavent personally but know people who have landed 25-30 pound chinook in a river on my rod which would out fight a pike on any day!! much more enjoyable to cast all day, and you should learn a perry poke very effective in still water much more so than a snap c

How long is it possible to cast with this type of gear? 

11 wt? My gosh, are there MARLIN in the lake?
