I bought Misa Tribass and it had the identical problem. It's basically a design flaw and MISA's facebook page is littered with identical stories about faulty digitizer. I contacted Michael Zaramis (CEO of MISA) and he basically told me he cannot fix it, not even if I pay him, as the chinese supplier of his parts is no longer in business. Michael however had the gall to offer me a discount on Misa's next product, Triwave. I am still salty about it. I strongly advise against ever doing business with Misa.

This products re-enforces my belief that any musician should learn keyboards to even a small degree just in case you want to sound like a different instrument but don't want to spend 10+ years solidly learning every instrument ever.

Not necessarily "of the future", but it's an interesting concept.

They made a really bad keyboard and called it a guitar.

I feel like removing the on board synth kinda almost defeats the purpose of the instrument.

Like yeah, it's a midi controller that a guitarist can use easily... but I feel like there's already a lot of those. I guess the touch screen modulation could be a selling point, but I feel like by the time you're making effective use of it, you're kind of learning a difference instrument anyways, so why limit yourself with the guitar form factor.

It might sound wierd but I would prefer the limitations of an on board synthesizer, I think if you're going to be wierd and avant-garde you might as well embrace the limitations of the freaky ass instrument you chose and see how far you can push them, it let's the instrument have an identity instead of being a weird way to achieve something similar to a normal midi controller.

I remember seeing muse play it right when I started getting past beginner level on guitar myself. I was like what the hell!? I have to learn a whole new thing now!?

FYI, Misa is still around and there is a newer model of the Misa available now called the TriWave. (Which is only 3 rows of buttons vs 6, so not really guitar-like other than body shape). But on the older model (and the Mosi) I feel like I would need fret markers or dot inlays/stickers to visualize chord patterns and scales with it's all black buttons and fretboard.

This isn't an instrument. It's a midi controller. I'm sick of people "inventing" new instruments and it's just a midi controller guitar or a midi controller you blow into.

So there are obviously problems with the guitars displayed here, but assuming we had a fully working midi guitar that's such a neat concept to play around. Many people descirbed the Patron Saint Chuck Berry's (Blessed be his name) as very drum like and percussive so I wonder what some of his licks would sound like on a drum kit guitar. What'd be cool is if you could bend the sound too, could you imagine a saxophone guitar solo XD

The Yamaha EZ-AG (taking into account price and features), somehow still is the best of these guitars :)
The piano setting, is still my go to 'fun' setting on it :)

I've been playing guitar for most of my life and for me a keyboard or piano is a lot easier to play.

I'm really tired of people trying to "improve" the guitar. It's the best instrument by far. It's perfect as it is. It requires no improvement, no innovation. It's perfect. I have a sneaking suspicion that people who make this kind of stuff suck at guitar. "Wouldn't it bee cool if there were a guitar, and I could actually play it?"
