i know supports are supposed to be versatile, but she seems to be constricting since she only works with a couple of units

as others said, eternity loses hp for each spell she casts, so afflatus+synergy right there. and reading the i3, I'm thinking true self only triggers once at end of round, but is buffed for how much / many times allies self hurt, so the ult would buff the true self trigger for that round.

I think spells is another word for incantation so any incantation will work i think

Great vid! Though I think your too focused on her starting in the standard pool being a negative thing. Especially when you said we have to lose 50/50s if we want portrays. & i say that bc R1999 actually gives standard banner characters a steady rotation of their own special banners so you can get them (or their portrays) without dealing with the horrible odds of the normal standard banner or having to lose 50/50s. Now if this was another gacha game, like Honkai Star Rail, where standard characters absolutely do not get their own banners, then this would be a negative situation for Semmelweis as you said, bc we'd have no way to get dupes for her unless we lost 50/50s.

Speaking of HSR, Semmelweis would actually be crazy good in HSR. Like, we already have Jingliu & Blade (2 hp drainers) that would synergize perfectly with her kit. Heck & i won't say names bc of leaks but there is even one more hp drainer coming in HSR who rhymes with Blade.

So my thoughts on her is that Semmelweis feels lacking now bc she doesn't have much synergy in teammates (bar Eternity & Ezra who are both not the best characters) but if they release other good 6 star characters who drain their hp on their turns Semmelweis would be an amazing character. So i think this is a case of waiting for R1999 devs to make characters to match Semmelweis like how they made Isolde to match Spathodea.

I understand the sentiment. I really like Getian's design, still gonna pull for him, but he's so skippable meta vise, being in the same patch with Jiu no less... 😥

I just wish Kakania was free instead of Semmel, with their kit strength reflecting this. Semmel is one of my favorite designs in r99 and its unfortunate that most likely she will not be meta or get much use outside of new accounts and niche situations

To me? She sounds really good on paper if the necessary "spell" (that's required for characters that don't automatically drain their own HP who are given New blood) counts ANY incantation type and not specifically just attacks, that way it makes at least one unit in her teams a flex slot character and gives her a good amount of viability even though there's only a few options currently that she can work with.
Eternity and Ezra plus any other unit w/new blood in the team sounds like the best thing she'll have going on until they add more explicitly HP draining on attack characters (I haven't seen Kakania's kit yet so im not sure if she does, but that might be possible) and the team doesn't sound too bad.
I don't even use Eternity and I'm still excited to get a unit who synergizes with Ezra's mechanic AND because he and Semmelweiss are my favorite characters so that's just an added bonus for me 😌
Its likely they'll add more characters who HP drain in the future (especially because Semmelweiss is free) in order to make her more versatile, but for now she'll just be a bit more restricted and get better with age.

I don’t think they would make a unit like this that eats her own hp snd allies hp bad. Even if she isn’t broken no doubt she will be strong. Especially since she is releasing on the anniversary.

I'm thinking of a mineral team with her, Eternity, Ballon Party and Necro (dmg & revive when on low HP with the domain if needed) / Pickles (more consistent dmg buff & dispell), but yeah besides these good but very especific comps she's mid, but yeah at least she's free so can't complain

One option for losing HP on your turn could be intentionally triggering counters. It's pretty niche and fight-dependent, but it's something any character with a damage card can do.

Even if she is not the best she is going to be good in the future.
And there are so many things we don't know how her ability works with others so the only way to know is by testing.

Basically, Eternity support. I still don't have Eternity so low-key hoping that if I lose to a character, I hope it's her. Simmelweis really synergize with Eternity. Might pull for Kakania if I have extra pulls (Don't have Ezra, sadly)

Is she still viable as a sub DPS with either Jiu Niangzi or Eternity? Or should I not build Semmelweis at all and not waste material on her?

Guys i need some opinion. Some days ago i got ezra and without read his skill, i go up max him. But later when i read his skill, i realy dissapointed, not bcos his skill cost hp...but either his damage and ultimate realy useless. (Long ago trial idk i can make ezra doing damage realy hurt, but now there is no description to can make he doing damage big).
And skill 2 is shield but only 1 turn, even ms babel better on this.
So the question... is realy worth to build simelweiz only fot ezra or old chara eternity?
Let said if simelweis can buff their damage to 8-10k each hit, im still okey, but if not....is not worth right?

Or other...please explain to me how to make ezra making super big damage (not on special condition bonus effect stage).

No free character is going to be broken ... but she can still get a spot in some teams
