Dear Cash, apologies in advance for the length but I’d like your thoughts on something please especially, as it concerns your foresight connected to the pictures.

I work at a luxury Residence where those who reside there all have the financial means to ship out should they choose. One gentlemen in particular used to debate with me (we have the kind of rapport where we can get away with that without me being fired mind you 😂) touting how Kamala couldn’t win! Not because he didn’t want her to but because he felt so ‘certain’ that she couldn’t. I completely disagreed with his sentiment but that’s another topic for another day.

Now in the throes of Trump’ aspiring authoritarianism, he has touted to me he’s looking for property on an island with his family (can’t remember which one). He once again, feels ‘certain’ we will become a police state and that we will be living in a 1950s style society with all rights slipping by the waste side, feeling sure the Supreme Court will overturn same sex marriage and so forth, thinking it will take decades to repair all the damage.

Anything is possible but I see a different writing on the wall. In my view, Trump and the MAGA movement isn’t sustainable in a 21st century diverse society (arguably the most diverse in the world). America is not immune to authoritarian tendencies by any means. The proof lies in the current landscape. However, Americans are NOT conditioned for a Putin/Stalin/Orban/McCarthy style way of life. We don’t all look the same or mostly look the same.

Trump has always been his own worst enemy which has been our strange solace and his freneticism I feel is bringing us closer to a fever pitch sooner than most likely anticipate hence, why I don’t feel confident he finishes a full term some way somehow God willing.

What strikes me about this other gentleman’s commentary is while knowing he has long had the means, and feels the way he does, it seems to me, quite simply, he and his family would have been out of here some time ago. At least, shortly after the election. He mentioned as such before the election. So, am I wrong to think there’s a hypocrisy to his brash ‘certainty?’

Also, and I don’t ask for wishful feedback as I much prefer to hear the truth or the best sembmebce of the truth you can give, are my instincts merited concerning my outlook? I just have this gut feeling this too shall pass and sooner than even I may anticipate.

I don’t think it will go down smoothly at all. But, all tyrants fall and Trump is an ‘old 78,’ and has made too many enemies too quickly, forcing the people both sides alike to wake sooner than he would have liked even. I do believe the judiciary is holding and will continue to hold including the Supreme Court mind you.

The gentleman did make an astute comment however, pointing out that Harvard must win their battle or else we’re on the verge of no return in a way. Dramatic assertion, but I understood his point nonetheless. If I recall correctly, your pictures suggested Harvard will prevail correct? I can’t imagine the Federal judiciary or even the Supreme Court for that matter will allow the administration to just pause the lives of many from other countries who have been at the university for a while, many of them key to scientific progress worldwide, forced to just up and leave. To say that’s unconstitutional is an understatement and I think even the high court knows that.

On a side note, I would love if you tried pictures for same sex marriage vs the Supreme Court. I know that’s on many of our minds amidst this muck.

It seems when I hear about the next thing Trump is doing, I just get more exhausted and disgusted. HOWEVER, I am reminding myself to jump back into my practice of 'mindfulness' which does calm my nerves and eases my fears yet it does take practice moment by moment! I do wonder if this country/world is getting worse and again wonder if my/our spiritual practices are effecting anything with the goodness of our intentions, prayers and energy work!
