Can someone with chronic AS have a full spinal fuse, to make sure the nerves are protected and dont get pinched in the AS fusing process?

Why go to a Chiropractor when you can go to and KEEP going to a physical therapist? Ya know…actually scientific based & works along side Doctors & Surgeons to make sure a patient is rehabilitated? And what people want is things to be fixed in a finger snap, physical therapy takes time and it’s hard in the beginning so people wanna throw that out. No no no! Just heard of another story of someone being paralyzed because of a chiropractor & it just doesn’t do much/anything to help with pain & symptoms. I’mma say it, Chiropractic schools should be shut down & all chiropractors need their license taken away, give them the ability to go to physical therapy school easily & let them start over.

Another Chiropractor agreeing - Dr. Webb is on point here. There is no way in hell I would work on an AS patient like this. Muscle work and stretching within tolerance - sure. Manual adjusting like this - nope. I work on several elderly patients with osteoporosis and just use gentle instrument adjusting and a lot of soft tissue work. You have to tailor the treatment to the patient.

I’ve had y-strap adjustments and knowing what I know now, I wish I had not had them or really had chiropractic care at all. After continuing to decline in chiropractic care, I finally saw a neurosurgeon who diagnosed degenerative disk disease. All of the manipulation I was receiving at the chiro was exacerbating my issues. I saw significant improvement with PT, lots of rest, and epidural steroid injections.

Why do your professions work against each other? You should work together. So instead of getting adjustments that relive pain and stiffness, you recommend what? Drugs and surgeries? There are so many legitimate alternative therapies that could cure and heal us if you guys would just work together with alternative medicines. I think anybody with half a brain is sick and tired of the medical industry, only treating the body as a machine.

Hey doctor antonio, I am a 22 year old with moderate to severe bulging discs in my L3-S1. Including a dehydrated disc between my L3-L4. All contributing to lateral spinal stenosis between my L3-S1 and foraminal stenosis in my Sacrum. I was going to ask if you could maybe go over what is happening to me in a video? What is the best thing I can do for pain? My appreciation would go beyond words. This whole situation has left me feeling hopeless. I have had bulging discs since I was 15 years old. I don’t understand where the stenosis came from? I have tried physical therapy, medication, and epidural steroid shots. I am afraid surgery is my next step.

I have NO trust in chiros, I am fused from l1-s1 and either would never go! My question is, if what this chiropractor is doing is SO dangerous, it just kinda speaks to my lack of trust… and for the record was DOESNT THE CHRIO KNOW HOW DANGEROUS THIS IS?!?! What a joke those “doctors “ are…

I just want to point out, I don't know what the hell this dude was doing, but every chiropractor I have been to, made fine tune adjustments. When they did use a strap, I was 589 LBS they needed more leverage. It was a not used just wanked on. Never once has someone jumped to force something.

I have a.s. I am in pain all the time. I have seen a primary, a rheumatologist, a chiropractor, and a physical therapist. I have had every scan and test. my bones hurt and it's difficult to walk. It seems that people either don't know how to treat this or just don't.

I was undiagnosed for several decades, and I have severe ankylosing spondylitis. My rheumatologist caused it end stage. They don’t treat me for it all except pain medication because he says it can’t get any worse because I have so much new bone growth and so much fusion. Years ago I went to the chiropractor and he told me he wouldn’t touch me with a 10 foot pole, he said move and he could break my neck. Is that true? A few months ago, I fell in the yard and broke my tibial plateau. I am suggested to the doctors that since I’m postmenopausal and a female of course, that maybe I should have a bone scan. He just kinda looked at me like a calf, staring at a new gate! He made me feel stupid so I just shut up. Was being stupid? I was surprised I broke my tibial plateau, falling in the grass. I suggested a CT scan of my upper spine because it is completely fused and I’ve had more pain in that area than before the fall. They didn’t do that either, not even a regular x-ray to see if they could see a bone shipped away or something like that, my rheumatologist told me that anytime I fall to get a CT scan. I don’t usually do that if I am not, but he told me it wasn’t if I break my neck, but when! he told me to stop riding my bicycle not to use equipment that was automatic like a treadmill or something that could cause me to fall if anything happened. I don’t know if they’re being overly cautious. They’re not treating me with anything. I can’t take NSAIDs because of my kidneys, and they told me I was too advance for biologics prescribe me pain medication

I agree to not let any Chiropractor ever do what that doctor did! Even if U have like I do thinning bones that can break easily. I already broke my L4 just lifting a heavy box at a yard sale some yrs. ago.
I have also had CHR of my left hip.
There R other things a Chiropractor can DO that will not harm or injure your bones or joints. Those things maybe could B helpful to someone with AS,OA,FM,PA. I happen to B 1 of those people with all of these disorders + a whole bunch more like lung heart, eye, SPN& pre-diabetes or maybe it is becoming full blown diabetes..
I am going to lose weight, get some diuretics( ones that don't deplete my potassium levels & see if I can get rid of the Edema in my feet & legs.
That is most likely due to my heart & blocked carotid artery which is effecting my lungs & low oxygen at night leading to what I believe is cardiac pulmonary edema!
I will see my heart doctor this coming Monday Aug.26,2024. Hopefully between him & myself I can fix this before it become congestive heart failure..
I fear I am headed that way. My grandfather died from a heart attack & my ma had a stroke.. So it is very close to my genes. I feel I am heading down that same road..

The American Medical Association formed early in the 1900's with the objective to discredit the American Chiropractic and the American Lay Midwife with media propaganda blitz. How many Tens of thousands of people suffered due to that defamation ("quacks") over the decades until the truth of the life-changing improvements became known? Obstetricians didn't want to go into rural areas to provide home births so they reluctantly called Lay midwives in those areas "Necessary Evil". Same Propaganda tactics being used today in the realm of pharmaceuticals vs non-pharmaceuticals. Of course a spine surgeon will discredit his "competition". The visual presentation of the adjustments in this case were used to shock the viewer. If you watch the entire original video you will see the client experienced real relief. My grandmother, a nurse, said "There are 50 percent of doctors who graduated in the bottom half of their classes. Use caution when seeking any health directives."
