I noticed several people commented on the lack of sheet music. George Gershwin never wrote the piano part since he was in a hurry and played it in the 1st concert. He improvised and never finished. So the piano part is always improvised.

my new favorite performance of this piece!!

I watched this video about a year ago and posted a comment. It is still amazing watching it again. I love Khatia's facial expressions. She is just a joy to watch play. She absorbs the music. But you can also tell that she loves to play with the orchestra and the music. In other words, not take over and dominate and make herself and her playing the focus. Yet she has such a visual presence that it's hard to take your eyes off of her. In short, Khatia is an entertainer. Simply a great artist.

Been listening intently my entire life. This may be the single most beautiful and impressive performance I’ve ever heard. Khatia is absolutely stunning! The clarinet is absolutely incredibly perfect! Just a magnificent performance.

I absolutely love how she emotionally feels the music and expresses herself with facial expressions and head movements, and participates with the orchestra through complimentary facial expressions. Watching and listening to her is very much like being a part of her! So inspiring, so heavenly!

Piano play is too fast, the conductor should not allow this.

I hope that this is understood to mean that I was simply blown away! I was dropping F-bombs the entire time! A shout out to that clarinet first chair is also in order.

A native New Yorker, this piece was the first live performance I attended as a child some 60 years ago. Today, I plan to request it for my funeral one day in the future, on the other end of life!
