Giving? The Ukraine has historically been in the realm of Russia. What does Trump have that he can give, other than an apology for the behavior of his country?

Loosing hundert of thousands young men, while having an under replacement birth rates for Russians (not Muslims) is not a win. Gaining a new frontier with NATO- Finnland - is not a win.
Loosing over 2 millions young Russian leaving the country due to a fear of mobilization, is not a win.
Becoming a Chinese vassal, is not a win.
I could go on and on.
Putin weakened Russia and prepared it for Muslim overtake in the near future

ok, let me try to explain that whole "nuance" deal everyone's giggling about

in USSR there was this series of jokes about Vasiliy Ivanovich Chapayev and his adjutant Pet'ka (a diminutive form of Pyotr; Peter, Pete). Chapayev was a Red Army commander who valiantly fought and died in the Russian Civil War, and there was a very popular eponymous movie about him and Pet'ka, among others, made in 1934, so they became sort of pop-culture figures, hence the jokes

there's this well-known, "classical" vulgar joke that Putin (who actually once called the Chapayev movie one of his favorites) sort of referenced in his speech because of that particular punchline:

— Vasiliy Ivanovich, I've heard this word, "nuance", but I don't know what it means.
— Okay, Pet'ka, I'll explain it to you. Take off your pants and bend over.
Pet'ka proceeds to do so, and Vasiliy Ivanovich sticks his cock into Pet'ka's ass.
— Now, see, Pet'ka, it's a "cock-in-the-ass" situation both for you and for me. But there's a nuance...

(it's a bit approximated for English, since Russian doesn't have definite and indefinite articles, and direct translation wouldn't be grammatically correct because English requires those articles, but I'm sure you get the idea)

All this discussion saddens me. I still find it hard to believe that Putin will accept a “democratic and prosperous” Ukraine, even if given Ukrainian territory. I believe Putin wants a subservient Ukraine, any form of democracy threatens him.

Don't underestimate the "woke" element of Europe and Ukraine, which Russians abhor. They see the West as decadent and it's understandable. None of the European countries could put a serious army together, their young people have been betrayed by their politicians by unbridled migration and lack of housing and family formation

Few US commentators refer to the 10-year civil war in which Ukrainian far groups led a bombing campaign against the four eastern oblasts or the referendum that had already been done by Crimeans and the USAID report on it (reported by Mercouris of The Duran). From the ex-colonial perspective of India, we can see the obsession the UK and MI5 have with Crimea and the Black Sea arena. Although Crimea has been Russian for centuries, British monarchs wear the crown of Russian empress Catherine the Great, stolen from the Turkish archives in Crimea!) So seeing her crown on their king's head makes British policy handlers want to conquer Crimea, themselves, by planting British naval bases in it and nearby ports to dominate the Black Sea and Russia's access to warm water ports on it. .

What did President Trump say this war is Europe problem, we the Americans do not care if the cease fire deal work or not. The Ukraine war is an ocean away from us does Europe understand that Americans do not care about the Ukraine war. Weather there is a Deal or no Deal this is an Europe problem. No One will put booths on the ground so give Russia what they want because no one will die for Ukraine specially no one in Europe. And we have seen more weapons to Ukraine do not work. We the Americans is not coming over there to fight and Europe needs to end this war and buy Russian gas so Europe can become competitive again and we all have peace. I know here in America we would agree.

Former ambassador from Russia?
Has the former ambassador ever deeply held a core value of Liberty?
Have you ever heard Ronald Reagan utter the words, " evil empire"?
Your talking points sound like something Pescov would say!!
All of your points are ever more the reason to "help" Ukraine.
Ukraine doesn't want to be part of a Putin / Siloviki totalitarian sphere of influence.
The Budapest Memorandum is pretty clear.
Russia signed it.
The Memorandum obviously means nothing to Russia.
Russia has behaved like a thug in eastern Europe for 100's of years.
Your just another authoritarian / Russiaan schill.
Freedom is the point your missing that was so dear to Ronald Reagan.

The word nuance has nothing to do with Russian for any genitals. It's just Putin's perk that he is a specialist in dirty jokes. I also don't know the joke but as far as I can remember it has something to do with homosexuality, like a phrase in Russian sounds the same for active and passive partner and the nuance is actually who penetrates whom!

George Washington strongly advocated for a policy of neutrality and avoiding permanent alliances with foreign nations, believing that the young United States should steer clear of European conflicts and focus on building its own domestic strength, as outlined prominently in his Farewell Address; this is often referred to as "isolationism.".
Key points about Washington's foreign policy:
Neutrality:
He believed the US should maintain a neutral stance in international disputes, especially those involving European powers.
Avoid entangling alliances:
Washington warned against forming permanent alliances with any foreign nation, as it could drag the US into unnecessary wars.
Focus on commerce:
While maintaining neutrality, he encouraged the US to foster friendly commercial relations with all nations.
Justification for his stance:
Washington recognized that the US was geographically isolated from Europe and had different interests, making involvement in European conflicts unwise.

The USA's proxy war on Russia was also the war to maintain US global hegemony, so that's the end of that. Trump's job is to spin that to a domestic audience in a way that makes him look good.
Running away and leaving their disposable pawns in Europe and Ukraine in the poo is the USA behaving absolutely true to type. When the Europeans wake up to how they've been treated that's going to be interesting. I hope our professional liars/politicians in Australia are taking note of the fate of Uncle Sam's disposable pawns.
As Kissinger said, "Being an enemy of the USA can be dangerous, being a friend can be fatal."

I'd like to add some words. Westerners just don't understand what a big trauma was June 22nd, 1941 for Russian leaders. The thing was the all out war started without any prior sharpening relations between USSR and Nazi Germany. There were no demands, no diplomatic quarrels, absolute silence. Only ever increasing presence of German troops near Soviet borders. Any Soviet concerns about that were simply brushed aside by the Nazis. And now Russian leaders view exactly the same pattern. Ever increasing NATO presence near Russian borders and western leaders brushing aside any Russian security concerns. Call that paranoia but this happened once. Why not second time? No western country had such experience.

The political elite are stock in their false narratives, bringing us the population of Europe down in a black hole. I hope for a new leadership in Europe working for peaceful coexistence with Russia.
