I believe that mocking a person's name, looks, clothing etc. takes away from a reasonable discussion/case. That which is important is the substance in the person's words and/or actions. (Thoughts, words and deed.) For me, this type of ridicule can turn me away from the speaker's or writer's actual message.

I've never seen two people more out of touch with reality. The reason for the widespread sexual abuse of children by priests in the Catholic Church has everything to do with the church's culture of authoritarianism, victim-blaming and sexual repression. Gay people populate every conceivable job and institution in every country on the planet. There isn't the systemic cover-up and perpetuation of child rape in most of these institutions, but there is in the Catholic Church. Why do they think that is?

Same sex attractions by themselves are not a sin. You state it in your description as such.

Acting on them goes against catholic dogma. But the way you describe it is that having these attractions alone and not acting on them equates to filth.

I'm opposed to birth control but Africa's population is swelling at an alarming rate. They can't sustain themselves. They don't have anywhere to go but to the West. If you conservative Catholics want to expose the lavender mafia, to be consistent and credible you also need to mention the conservative darling Pope Paul VI (of the Humanae Vitae saga) as a homosexual himself which in fact stalled his canonization process when evidences of his homosexuality emerged and during whose papal reign let in the seed of homoheresy and the homosexual network into the Catholic Church which we now see as a full grown tree and its fruit among many, the priests and bishops involved in homosexual abuse (powerplay) of young men.

Priests & Seminarians with same sex attraction are not a problem as long as they affirm church teaching, do not seek to change church teaching and remain celibate as is expected.

It's a confluence of events. There was certainly an infiltration (I bought your book it is great Dr.Marshall). Also back in previous decades when homosexuality was viewed as a perversion or mental disorder you had Catholic men who fought the urge and decided to join the priesthood because they knew they wouldnt have a wife and family. Others did it too hide in plain sight behind the respect of the position. As it has become more mainstream accepted or even almost a proveledged class many seem to be coming out. Now the infiltration has gotten high up and promoted their own. A deep investigation and master file needs to be compiled and any unchaste or downright perverse and evil need rooted out. I live in WV 2 towns down from wheeling (wheeling Jesuit, wheeling Charleston diocese) across the river from Stuebenville (franciscan). I worked at a parish right before Bransfield scandal broke and there were things that occurred that I questioned and looked into and it was disconcerting to say the least.

I have recently felt led to learn about my parents’ faith after thirty five years in Protestant churches ( to my surprise). This breaks my heart and infuriates me. Cardinal Sarah seems to be a godly man of integrity.
