This is a screw feeder vs a screw conveyor due to the material being fed by a hopper. You need to put a shroud directly down stream of the inlet to prevent flushing of material. Also it would be helpful for the inlet section flights to be half pitch then transition to full pitch midway through the shrouded section. This will lower the trough loading so that you aren't passing material over the hanger bearings, you will have issues because of the material contamaniting the hanger bearings causing wear.
