This video is a continuation of the videos about fractions. It teaches learners about how add mixed numbers.

National Curriculum Objectives KS2:
Year 5: Recognise mixed numbers and improper fractions and convert from one form to the other and write mathematical statements greater than 1 as a mixed number.
Year 6: Add and subtract fractions with different denominators and mixed numbers, using the concept of equivalent fractions

National Curriculum Objectives KS3:
Use the four operations, including formal written methods applied to mixed numbers, all both positive and negative.

CfW Progression Step 3: I can demonstrate my understanding that non-integer quantities can be represented using fractions (including fractions greater than 1), decimals and percentages. I can use my knowledge of equivalence to compare the size of simple fractions, decimals and percentages and I can convert between representations.
