Nearly thirty years after an earthquake destroyed the city, the Italian artist Coco Polizzi, who was born in Rabat, Morocco, decided to build a medina in Agadir.

His aim was to showcase local crafts, as well as Berber architectural heritage. The foundations and masonry were made of red Argana, white Agadir and yellow Salé stones, as well as green Anzi slate. For the ceilings, eucalyptus beams were used.

In this ochre and sandy world, all trades are represented. The medina even offers an amphitheater for cultural activities. However, it now competes with the recently opened craft village, so the alleys of the medina are now less crowded. But so near the center of Agadir, it provides a complete change of scenery.
