Thank you Tim for this wonderful Guide. Much needed clarity.
ОтветитьWhen I started working remotely for a big corporate and started traveling I soon learned through experience about the principles talked about in Vagabonding, understanding at the end of our lives what are the things that really make us fun: experiences through adventure and discovery through the eyes of other people. I recommend that life for everyone. It's a valuable lesson in value.
ОтветитьTim luv this!, but can't stop staring at your cap you look like an 80s fitness instructor lol
Ответить1. Law of Category (from The 22 Immutable Laws of Marketing)
Instead of fighting to be number one in an existing category, create a new category where you can be the first. Example: Instead of being the best “freelancing teacher,” you could become the “first online freelancing mentor for rural students.”
2. Blue Ocean Strategy
Focus on creating an uncontested market space by offering something innovative and new, making competition irrelevant. Example: Offering a freelancing course that combines portfolio-building, mentorship, and job placement for underserved groups.
3. Small Giants (by Bo Burlingham)
This concept focuses on businesses that choose to be great rather than big. Instead of chasing growth at all costs, focus on creating a deep impact, building loyal relationships, and providing unmatched quality. Example: A highly personalized freelancing course that has fewer students but offers one-on-one mentorship.
4. 1000 True Fans (by Kevin Kelly)
You don’t need millions of followers or customers; just 1,000 “true fans” who are loyal, consistently support you, and spread the word. Example: Build a loyal community of graduates who become your ambassadors, referring others to your course.
5. The Effective Executive (by Peter Drucker)
Focuses on maximizing personal effectiveness by managing time, focusing on results, and leveraging strengths. Example: Streamline your business operations so that you're focusing on the most impactful areas—mentorship, marketing, and curriculum creation.
6. 80/20 Principle (by Richard Koch)
80% of your results come from 20% of your efforts. Identify what activities yield the highest impact and focus on those. Example: Focus on the top 20% of skills that will get students freelancing jobs the fastest (like client communication or Upwork profile optimization).
7. Vagabonding (by Rolf Potts)
Vagabonding is about long-term, low-cost travel as a way of life. It promotes simplicity and flexibility. For your business, it could mean creating a flexible business model that doesn’t require a fixed location—like an online, travel-friendly course for digital nomads.
8. The 4-Hour Work Week (by Tim Ferriss)
Focuses on outsourcing, automation, and lifestyle design. Delegate tasks that others can do, automate processes, and focus on what you do best. Example: Automate your course delivery, while focusing on personal mentorship and strategic growth.
Very young 😮
ОтветитьRead Byung Chul Han the Achievement society. Tim Ferris reminds me the kind of person he talks about. Enjoy
ОтветитьI’m going to read all the book that you recommended! I also started to wondering is that my approach is unique enough in the fitness industry to get the right attention and build my 1000 core followers…!? 🧐
ОтветитьTim Pool needs this hat
Ответить⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🎉
ОтветитьThank you Tim, for sharing this episode! Your insight is greatly appreciated.
ОтветитьGood advice brotha. Please work on NOT using the C word though...CAN'T
ОтветитьGreat video, thanks Tim
ОтветитьThanks for this wonderful steps, much necessary for those who start their jouney.
ОтветитьLol didn’t know if was a hat
ОтветитьSmall giants
ОтветитьIs optimal easy first?
ОтветитьI thought this guy was wearing a head band
ОтветитьKept thinking that you put a sweat band on because you mean business!
ОтветитьI thank you for introducing me to the book called 22 Immutable Laws of Marketing, it made me see something that I had been thinking about and that is, "The basic issue in marketing is to create a category in which you can be first.
Law of Leadership: It is better to be first than to be the best. It's much easier to penetrate
in mind first than trying to convince someone to switch to a better product than
than the one who first penetrated the mind." Thank you very much. Good year
Dear diary, its been 5 years since this video got out and im still figuring out if Tim wears a hat or a sweatband.
ОтветитьRIP iTunes 😂
ОтветитьThat hat though!
ОтветитьThat’s pure gold
ОтветитьI'm sorry to advise you but your video is misleading and provides only a poor attempt of regurgitated information ....and YES I have experience running a successful professional services company... Please do not misinform people about entrepreneurship without actual business experience and industry performance.
ОтветитьTim - Been consuming large quantities of your content over the past week - YT videos (like this excellent one), Podcast, Tools of Titans (and the 4-hour books on order) - mad respect for you for being so unflinchingly human (not coming over as superhuman) and I thoroughly resonate with your commitment to reading everything that matters on everything you're interested in - I'm 63 and an insatiable read - learning from you (and other experts) as I prepare to launch my first ever podcast and just wanted to thank you for being so hungry and so generous!
ОтветитьSo so so useful thanks Tim!!!1
ОтветитьWhat a insane amount of value thank you Tim
ОтветитьBanka.
Ответить'There are so many made up stats in the world... If you do this you have a 50/50 chance of succeeding!'
ОтветитьExcellent video despite the condom hat. Great advice!
ОтветитьDude you need to take these videos down. That condom on your head is ridiculous. 😅
Ответить"If you are on all the time and you are hustling 24/7 in a very scatter brain fashion, that in itself is a form of laziness.
Indiscriminate action is reflective of too little thinking and planning and that is lazy. And that is one of the most destructive forms of laziness because it is socially reinforced" - Tim Ferris
Thank you Tim!
ОтветитьIts a beanie. I thought it was a headband
ОтветитьAmazing video! How important would you say it is to be a native English speaker to have success podcasting? Does it make any difference?
ОтветитьMy favourite book is Atomic Habbits for habbit building , Good to Great by Jim Collins and Rework for business as a beginner 👍
ОтветитьAt first it seemed that Tim must’ve spent time with Tai Lopez and acquired so much KNOWLEDGE that it grew his dome.
ОтветитьAbsolute gems my man.. As allways thank you Tim 🔥🔥🔥🔥
ОтветитьI love you Tim. Thank you for all that you do brother
ОтветитьTim, this morning I stumbled across your interview on Morning Brew. After, watched two of your videos, including the above. Your guidance regarding starting a business essentially is what I experienced starting my first service corporation back in the early 80s. As founder and CEO, I operated and built that business into a North American competitor over forty plus years, before retiring it six years back. During that time, I started and sold two other businesses. I enjoyed and could relate to your experience on many levels, only my experiences began back in the 70s, including the effects of psychedelics. I hope your audience listened closely, especially to when you say, if they don't have time to read, they probably should pass on starting a business. Thank You!
ОтветитьAn older but no less valuable video.
ОтветитьHa
For the longest I’ve always thought he wore a headband lol
Thanks Tim !
ОтветитьHow is the universe/algorithm managed to show me this in this moment in time is amazing and greatly appreciated.
ОтветитьI really felt that you said, indiscriminate action is a destructive form of laziness and you become an expert at working hard on trivial things. I really needed to hear that.
ОтветитьThat hat legit looks like a black headband :D
