I watched this on this Easter Sunday - just a few minutes ago. Having experienced an already meaningful Paschal Triduum, your valuable synthesis of the meanings in 3 layers of the blood and water at the side of Christ, has provided me a true treasure on this Easter celebration. To God be the Glory! Because I too have seen 3 practical Resolutions for myself : 1) Endeavour to seek true understanding through the Magisterium, and other means provided through the Church and persons who are solidly formed in the doctrine. 2) Not to fear in times of suffering, pain and troubles. Omnia in Bonnum! 3) Rather, strive to be a bearer of joy, love and peace, as God commands, and in order to bear much fruit, for He would be pleased. ("Love is to be repaid with love". "Love is expressed in deeds and not sweet words".)

I always looked upon the blood and water coming from the the side of Christ :
The water cleanses away our sins. Kind of like to admitting absolution of our sins as in confession. We are freed of our sins. The Blood pouring out of the Side of Christ is purification: the Graces we receive through God ‘s Divine Mercy to strengthen us in His Great Love. Take reconciliation very seriously. It is a way to realize our humanity and God : Christ ‘s Divine Power, His Gentle yet powerful Love.

If Christ is the New Adam and the Church is taken from His side, wouldn't that mean that the New Eve is then the Church? I always thought that the Catholic position was that Mary was the New Eve, so how does this work? Can someone please explain this? Thanks

It is such a pity that you present an interesting argument as to how Jesus is seen as the temple, knowing that Jesus says he is the temple and that the Father dwelt in him, but you cannot connect the dots. Jesus is not God incarnate but is the temple of God as are we through Jesus.

I'm a Jewish convert to the Catholic Faith. I appreciate very much these videos by Dr. Pitre, especially because of the "first century Jewish" perspective.

When I read Ezekiel's description (Ezekiel 47) of the water "flowing from under the right side of the Temple, south of the altar," that becomes a mighty river, I always associate that with the blood and water flowing from the side of Christ. Ezekiel goes on to describe the new life and healing powers of this river, just as the Sacraments bring new life and healing to the world. I can't remember if Dr. Pitre mentioned this chapter of Ezekiel in this video, but perhaps in another one?

I am not convinced Adam and Eve were the first humans or at least not the only ones God created if this was the case when Cain killed Able he was concerned he would be killed if he was put outside and God marked him to prevent that however who were outside that were going to kill him ? It seems to me that there were others outside we know the fallen angels were thrown out of heaven to earth we are also told about sons of god having sex with human females ?? what we are not told is the timeline for these events.

That water is the new testament from his blood that shed for many . We have to drink his blood(the water) to have eternal life likewise his body(the bread) . I was sure everyone knows this lol .
