Went with my dad watching this movie, it was honestly an experience, we sat in the first row, being blasted by the noise of the jets each time they flew, I was enjoying myself so much that I was literally punching the air in some scenes.

My dad exited the cinema with nausea lol.

Anyway, everyone had a great time, five stars (which makes the film an ace ^^)

this movie is great and a great sequel, in fact better, enough said.

Honestly, I went it with low hopes given the trend on how currently Hollywood treats remakes, reboots and 80/90s sequels but damn this did not disappoint! I’m glad this unicorn of a film actually came out and took the time it needed to be legit

In the movie, the enemy is Russia. The snowy mountains but the actual dead give away are the planes that the enemy aircraft is using. They are flying SU-57's, a Russian 5th Gen fighter

An Easter egg I've stumbled on but have yet to see mentioned anywhere is the F-14 bullet count. When Maverick is down to his last rounds at the end of the dog fight in the canyon he has exactly 33 rounds left. The significance being that if this movie had released when intended, it would have been 33 years after the first Top Gun.

The mission in the film is similar to that of the movie Iron Eagle 2.

I thought the enemy was Russia because of the snowy mountains and it being by the ocean, however North Korea also makes sense and Iran makes even more sense because of them buying F-14's

Im proud that you know that the last country to have F14s is Iran. Once America became enemies with Iran, they ordered all of the F14s that were operational to be scrapped so that Iran could never get their hands on any parts - this also applied to all allies.

It means theres about 6-10 F14's that are capable of flying left in the world. The F14 at the end of this is fully CGI but pretty sure the one that they use on the ground was a museum piece from somewhere in the states where they did enough upgrades so that electronics could work but thats it.

After seeing the trailer I was waiting for the movie to be released and it was worth the wait, saw it on 4dx and it was awesome. It is better than original, Iceman and Maverick top notch, Maverick and Penny nice chemistry. The Ariel scenes were mind blowing. The other characters were good. Nice video by the way

The flying scenes were unparalleled in this movie, and all the throwbacks to the original, both in plot point and in the scripted dialogue, were really well done.

A little detail, the opening carrier flight ops scene showed a human toy figure which is Abraham Lincoln, that's bcoz the carrier is the USS Abraham Lincoln.

This film was fun but the repeated lifting from Star Wars was distracting to the point of parody.

Miracle #1, Miracle #2, Miracle #3. This felt like a nod to Val Kilmers work in The Saint. It could be a coincidence, but it wouldnt surprise me given Val's known illness, and done in a similar scene sequence.
