This popped in an auto-generated playlist and i'm so glad it did. Firstly and obviously, this song slaps are you kidding me. Secondly, I've been meaning to look for an easy old-school RPG to introduce my girlfriend to the genre and based on a quick search the game's cover doesn't lie. Mystic Quest it is!

I feel like this game is underrated. Yeah its far more linear and simplified compared to other SNES FF games, but like i had apparently already mentioned here 5 yrs ago, this game was the very first turn based rpg i had ever encountered and like many others, it was responsible for my future love of the genre. Also the music is god damn amazing! 🎸👽

As a kid, I got mad when the battles went on too long, because it meant I was getting my butt whooped with status effects, but in retrospect what a treat. That bassline man.

Never has fighting against a common slime enemy in an RPG back in the 90's sounded so intense.

Final Fantasy always delivered the music. I hate the action jrpg crap today that is so forgettable.

Id already played and beaten FF4/2 and Phantasy Star when i got this, and still had a blast playing it. Yep, its simple and easy, but it really is underrated - just gets a bad rap from people who want to bag on a game made to get younger gamers into JRPGs. Not every game has to be hardcore.
