Weren't OLS (ok, not exactly that type) first developed by the Imperial Japanese Navy?
ОтветитьYes, in 90 years, we will be fighting for food and fighting WWIV with sticks and stones with what remains of these great ships, if anything, being a rusting hulk.
ОтветитьNot Gonna Lie. Battleships were more expensive but They were more cooler than Carriers
ОтветитьCarriers have come a long way from the USS Langley to the USS Gerald R. Ford.
ОтветитьDamn I hate war but I really apreciate your videos. Thanks
Ответить❤❤❤
ОтветитьThat bulbous bow joke was illegally funny
ОтветитьIt always looks like this, even ive the ship isnt ecited
Ответить😂
ОтветитьSo what I could gather is that most of the innovative technologies were developed by the British but later perfected by the Americans. It’s cool to see two nations piggyback off of each other.
Ответитьhaha, so true. my uncle was in the navy on a battleship during vietnam, him and the other newbies (he called it something. that you're considered a fresh recruit until you sail over some line and are considered to have your sea legs i think?) got told so many gruesome tales from other way more experienced crew men about tales from air craft carriers. how lucky they were to be on one of the safer naval jobs, and how one guy saw his 10 year superior get turned into meat spaghetti by a rouge plane right in front of him. and i was thinking "what the fuck is wrong with you that this is considered a fond memory from the navy??? 😂"
ОтветитьYou should play the Top Gun theme for the footage of those human powered wright bros. biplanes landing on wooden scaffolding decks stapled on top of steamships!
ОтветитьThe British invented the carrier the catapult and the OLS?
ОтветитьNot a lot I predict for such a long time, but I know for sure one thing. In 90 years B-52 buff will be still in service
ОтветитьSo American aircraft carriers took inspiration for armoured decks, angled decks, side lifts, launch catapults, naval jets and optical landing systems after seeing them work on British aircraft carriers, then improved them. Fascinating stuff.
Ответитьmake a comprehensive un navy submarine evolution video
ОтветитьDong feng is enough
Ответитьnice video
ОтветитьPit stop area is a great design. God bless all who serve. 🇺🇸🙏
ОтветитьOkay so who's the bonehead walking around the flight deck and the g string at approximately 2 minutes. Excuse me in advance if I'm the bonehead and he's some prisoner of war.
ОтветитьI've been on the USS Midway which is now considered small. Just to see the inside of that thing and all the updates it has over the years is truly amazing that humans can make something like that. I can't imagine being on the Ford class
ОтветитьSo First flying on Crusier then battleships IN THE FUTURE THATS WHAT SCOUT PLANES WERE MADE ON BATTLESHIPS
ОтветитьSo we invented all this stuff for CATOBAR carriers yet we use effing ski jumps on our super carriers? Pathetic
ОтветитьShowed the USS Constellation cva 64 instead of CVA 63 Kittyhawk
ОтветитьI like it.
ОтветитьThe video was uploaded three years ago but still it was a masterpiece ,amazing
Why in recent videos you are not writing the specifications of the ships like displacement speed etc
at the bottom
I now understood that earlier the airplane used in aircraft carriers did not needed a large runway .
That's why catapults were not from the initial stage .
this is contrary to what I used to think I used to think that earlier United States aircraft carriers also had a ski jump
These type of videos bring insights and clarity about many things
But one thing is for sure all these technological innovations came because the risk and courage and well are shown by our predecessors since the last century
I think nowadays no one is ready to take this much risk the risk of their life
Salute to those bold people
Cannot yet hoover in the skies like Marvel’s aircraft carrier!😮
ОтветитьWhile obviously the Yorktown class carriers were the most successful design in the US ever made. The Lexington class with the most revolutionary and important and teaching the world how sleep carriers worked. As well as Saratoga making it through to the end of the war.
ОтветитьThe importance of an angled flight deck isn't really about simultaneous launch and recovery, but about deck space. With an angled landing zone, the deck can be used to park space-hungry fast jets.
ОтветитьCome at me chat, But I still think the Forrestal is the prettiest aircraft carrier ever made.
ОтветитьI’m so proud of my country and my countries military 🇺🇸🫡
ОтветитьCan you do uk aircraft carrier
ОтветитьExcellent video. Thorough but to the point. Well done!
ОтветитьF4 bomber
ОтветитьWait there were 2 enterprises?
ОтветитьMy father served on an aircraft carrier in the Pacific in World War II. He was an aviation torpedo man and operated a gun turret on both TBF and TBMs. He flew off in Independence class CBL 24, USS Belleau Wood. He was part of task force 58 fast attack carrier group under Admiral bull Halsey. The skipper was Rear Admiral Pride who was a Navy Aviation pioneer in the early years of aircraft carriers.
