That was cold blooded. And a reminder of how cold blooded Boyd’s character really was. Which makes Goggins portrayal that much more incredible. To have an audience both root for and loathe a bad guy is truly and incredible feat.
ОтветитьTop shelf acting!!
ОтветитьAm I the only that thinks this reminds them "of mice and men" ending.
ОтветитьThere weren't many sad scenes in the series but this is one of them.
Ответить"No, Lennie. Look down there acrost the river, like you can almost see the place."
ОтветитьThis is probably the most merciful we’ve seen Boyd. It’s almost like he’s trying to get Dewey to convince him not to kill him, he gave him more chances than anyone else from his crew that betrayed him. You can see how somber he becomes when Dewey starts talking about the Crowder Commandos and how it used to be, when he mentions Devil, it’s almost like Boyd saw where it was going to go again and decided to not take a chance again.
ОтветитьThat was flat out cold.
ОтветитьI really think Dewey should have been allowed to survive. He of course did many bad things, but he was more hapless than evil.
ОтветитьI can understand why Boyd killed Dewey. He was weak and stuck in reliving the past! It’s not a good option for anyone. It is sad but a good lesson to be learned.
ОтветитьIt had to be done.
ОтветитьThe problem with Dewey made sense. Dewey couldn't get out because he never saw an out. He didn't know any other life than the Game. Only problem was the players changed. The Boyd he crawled back to wasn't the same Boyd that took him in. In fact: Boyd had been through so many betrayals to the point where he meant it when he said he couldn't trust Dewey.
ОтветитьCheck out Walter Goggins' character in the movie "American Ultra"
ОтветитьDewey wasn't gonna hold out much longer, it did indeed hurt to see Boyd do this to him but in the world they live in it was necessary.
ОтветитьI just realised Dewey is played by the same actor who does Freddy in Mr. Inbetween.
ОтветитьBoyd wanted to do that for long time!
ОтветитьHe was distracted so he could feel some sense of comfort in death that’s fair
Ответитьits actually surprising dewey outlived just about everyone else
ОтветитьThe penguin did this dirty
ОтветитьFirst time I saw this scene it made my tear up. Dewey wasn't a good guy, but that was bottom of the fozen lake stone cold. He shouldn't have gone out like that. Phenomenal acting.
ОтветитьWow!! 😮
ОтветитьPoor Dewey, he was such a lost soul.
ОтветитьDewey is an Australian with a thick accent. The fact he could perfect this role is a testament to what an actor he is.
ОтветитьHow sad. COulda just let the guy walk lol. Wasn't worth the bullet.
Ответитьbroke jaw dont talk
Ответитьwired jaw only heal
ОтветитьThis scene is really heartbreaking. Dewey being the comic relief was one thing, but sometimes you could feel sorry for him.
I loved the detail right before he gets killed you can hear the guitar chords of "You'll never leave Harlan alive"
Dewey's end started in season 5 when he brought in his cousin Daryl. After that Boyd new he couldn't trust him. It was just a matter of time.
ОтветитьEveryone's saying how cold blooded this was, but I think Boyd was gentle. By distracting Dewey, making him look at the photo, Dewey went out quickly, mercifully.
Boyd did what had to be done, but he did it without rancor, without cruelty.
Best actor for the character of Boyd. Hands down
ОтветитьDewey should have given up on all that knotzee bs. Move to Australia and open up a strip club.
ОтветитьHarlan County was not a boom town, it was full of boom towns. Lynch, Benham, Cumberland, Harlan, Wallins, Loyall etc. Most communities were owned by companies with their own mines, police forces, schools etc. It's still shrinking even to this day, every school I went to Totz, Benham, Cumberland High have all closed.
ОтветитьI'm not so sure this was a cold-blooded killing.. I think for Boyd.. this was more of a "taking down old Yeller" kinda thing. A bullet of pity for a lost, and despairing Dewey.
ОтветитьHard to believe that "Dewey" is actually an Australian. He nailed that hillbilly accent perfectly.
ОтветитьThe moment I was no longer on team Boyd.
ОтветитьLove the way this scene sets the tone for the rest of the season. For one thing, you get the sense that Boyd has truly reached his final form, ready to burn whatever bridges he deems necessary to get what he wants. And for another thing, you really get the sense that the series if coming to end. Dewey's talk of the past, bringing us closer to the first season than we've been in a long time, gives a sense of the circle starting to close.
ОтветитьHe never left Harlan alive...
ОтветитьDewy was a skank.
ОтветитьWTF? Didn't even show him shooting him? What kind of grabbastic, Mickey Mouse BS is that?
ОтветитьThis Australian Actor (Damon Harriman) played Dewey Crow to PERFECTION! He an Boyd were fantastic Characters!
Ответить"You mean I had four kidneys?"
ОтветитьDewey was a tragic figure.
ОтветитьRaylan broke Dewy in episode 1, poor soul just didn't realize it
ОтветитьA guy with a broken jaw shouting like that?
ОтветитьBoyd was a criminal gangster through the entire run of Justified. However, he lost his soul to true evil when he murdered Dewey and the guy who drove the pick up truck.
ОтветитьIn his own way, Boyd really did like Dewey. He made it so he didn't see it coming.
ОтветитьSadly, this was the jump the shark moment for the series. They had spent years softening the Boyd character and generating audience sympathy for him, just to turn it all around on a dime to give us a full season of an unrecognizable Boyd. If they thought they had made a mistake with the character, this was not the way to fix it.
ОтветитьDewey was always a funny, goofy character, tried to be hard but was more comical. But this scene, man he brought a brand new dimension to the character. Sad to watch, but phenomenal acting.
ОтветитьThis was a great show with a great ending . They should have left it alone.
ОтветитьI felt bad doe Dewey, it was not his fault he was dumb. He was a natural follower....if he would have fell in with a good guy with a charismatic personality he would have been a decent human being.
