Great stuff
ОтветитьWhat the hell does any of this have to do with the tower of bagel
Ответитьis he a false teacher?
ОтветитьDr Heiser, your presentations in these short clips are fantastic! I’m loving each one you post up.
Would it be too much to ask you to post a link to the full presentation also? Would love to listen to the entire thing.
What does this have to do with the tower of babel? Also who thinks that the tower was just about speech?
ОтветитьI have been convinced for decades of the idea of the ancients firmly believing in regional gods. It is the only way that I could reconcile the part in Exodus where Moses asks of the burning bush "who shall I say has sent me?" It's clear that Moses didn't, at first, understand that the God of his forefathers could operate so far outside of his assumed territory.
God later removes all doubt when he tells Moses in Ex 6:3 " I appeared to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob as El Shaddai, but by My name, YHWH, I did not make Myself known to them."
When considered in the light of the fallacy of regional gods Exodus 6:6-8 are very, very powerful statements from our God
NAAMAN THE GENTILE PAGAN COMMANDER WORSHIPPED THE TRUE GOD.. HE OBEYED THE WORD AND HE WAS HEALED..
NOT THE WATER ALONE OF JORDAN HEALED HIM BUT THE WORD OF GOD THROUGH HIS PROPHET HE DIDN'T SEE..
HOW ELIAS OBEY GOD COMMAND UNDER THE LAW GIVEN TO MOSES THAT THEY SHOULD NOT BLEND WITH UNCLEAN ONES..
THOSE WHO OBEY GOD SEES AND HE WILL RESTORE..
Michael Heiser's lessons often remind of how fulfilled a life-long orthodox Jew must feel and know when they accept Jesus Christ. They have a knowledge of the regional culture , tradition , feasts and geography regarding the old testament in ways that most of us gentiles simply can not know. When saved Jewish people read the Bible , they see and understand things that I need Michael's explanation for since I just don't have the background. It does make me appreciate his teachings so very much....it makes Bible reading all the more awesome...thanks for what you help us to see , Dr. Heiser !!
ОтветитьI like to think of altars as an ancient form of what we may now call a "barbecue" in the West, but done in a more primitive manner. I know it's a very different thing, but meat can be cooked on charcoal, or over open flame. If an offering is to be eaten, then the meat would be consumed by those that have offered it to God. If not, then the offering may be wholly consumed by fire.
ОтветитьWhat this leaves out is the covenantal aspect. When Jesus said, "I go to prepare a place for you that where I am, you may be also," that was the third instance of that theme in scripture. The first time was when God prepared Eden and created his first covenant people, Adam and Eve, to dwell there with him in fellowship and worship. The second was when he prepared the Promised Land and created his second covenant people, Israel, to dwell there with him, though he was secluded in the holy of holies there. God was always known to be Lord of everywhere. But the sacred ground was the place where he dwelt with his covenant people in fellowship. The desert was the place where his face did not shine, where his benefits were not fully bestowed. This is why Jesus was tempted in the wilderness.
ОтветитьI just ordered his book the unseen realm. I am amazed at the stuff I am learning through Dr Heiser’s video lectures.
ОтветитьNimrod is also Orion.
ОтветитьNimrod was the 1st anti Christ & king of the world
ОтветитьThroughout all of Scripture... God meets us where we are at. God meets us in our false perspectives (relative reality/s), which shows up over and over in both the OT and NT. God's absolute reality is the perpetual invitation for us to receive the identity of who God created us to be with and in the Relationship of God.
ОтветитьCome on, God Bless You Dr Michael S. Heiser.
ОтветитьI grew up in a heavily legalistic church, then I went into pentecostalism from there to the faith movement, and then Grace and faith movement, I got born again in 1975, and I was never taught correctly the whole council of God in any of those years. Now I find Mike Heiser and more things fit into place ... WHY, WHY, WHY can't we be taught these things in our local church instead of only the darkened thoughts of a denominational mindset, and if don't want that mindset then we have to walk alone as we are considered back sliden, or worse a blasphemer, and heretic? This type of teaching should be taught in bible schools and the local body of believers. Thank you Michael for teaching this stuff.
ОтветитьThank you for all.
May you be well.
this goes to show that the OT is full of thousands of little things that have a reason for being mentioned that we as gentiles have no way of understanding unless it is brought to our attention by someone who knows the culture.
ОтветитьThank you Dr. Heiser, I really enjoy your books. I pray you are well and strong. God Bless!
ОтветитьPaul's epistles got to Spain, even if he himself didn't. "The Bible in Spain" (1840ish) chronicles the work of colporteur George Borrow. The man had a phenomenal gift for languages. He was a powerful writer. He puts you right there, to see what he saw as he travelled Spain on horseback selling New Testaments. In Madrid, he translated the NT into a dialect of Gypsy, the "crabbed Gitano", which he learned in the streets of London. Don't miss this one.
ОтветитьThe real story of all that went on in the bible is just so endlessly fascinating!!. It's beyond incredible! How it all really was, all of the spiritual warfare, how it went down and what all the things it was based upon and carried out. It makes my mind spin with wonder and an ever growing appreciation for the ONE, and only True Living God.
ОтветитьDr. Chuck Missler opened my perspective on the supernatural realm of the Bible. You have continued my further appreciation of thinking outside the typical theological explanation of the many passages in the Bible that needed a deeper and truthful understanding of what the ancient writers fully intended the readers to grasp. There were giants in the world and there are unseen, supernatural realms that surround us, each and every hour of every day. Thank you Dr. Heiser for your boldness in explaining the mysteries of passages that pastors will not address.
ОтветитьIn the Ancient world, kings would demand earth and water from lands they conquered/ruled - and keep them in vessels either in their palace or in the temple of their god to show that they and their god had absolute authority over that land. In the case of Naaman, he requested to take "two mules load" of earth back home, to spread over the land of rimmon. By doing this, showing that YHWH had absolute authority and dominion - upon which he would make offering and sacrifice to - and worship YHWH. When Naaman stepped on that earth, he was stepping onto holy ground; he was stepping from the realm of rimmon into the realm and presence of YHWH.
Ответитьdear brother! You are gone now but your teaching is still here with us. We miss you badly...
ОтветитьAnd … to think…Father created us from dirt ❤
ОтветитьDMSH has caused me to really lean into the Hebrew texts instead of the English and Septuagint translations. I was and still am shocked by how different they are in places.
ОтветитьWhat did any of this have to do with tower of babel?
ОтветитьIs there a church that best exemplifies this universal membership of all the nations? Is it the Southern Baptist Convention maybe?
ОтветитьPeople miss the fact that Rev.20:3 is talking about this. It said Satan is bound that he should deceive the nations no longer. When Christ offered himself as the perfect sacrifice he regained the dominion that Adam lost. He exercises that dominion over the world by the spread of his kingdom in the hearts of men by belief in the gospel. When Satan tempted Christ in the wilderness he told Christ he would give him all the kingdoms of the earth if Christ would bow down and worship him. Christ could have had dominion without going to the cross but that wasn’t the Father’s will. Without the cross no one could be saved.
ОтветитьHe’s in a better place, but I wish he were still here.
ОтветитьAmerica is the new Babel, Spiritual Babylon
Zechariah 5, The wickedness in an Ephah established upon her own pedestral in Shinar, New York (spiritual Babylon) sin city & Capitol of Sodom,
Yes I do!
ОтветитьSo was it Yahweh or the fallen angels on Mount Sinai and in giving the rules in Leviticus?
ОтветитьMike, I believe you’re now in the divine council of our LORD. Thank God for working through you to reach me unlike anyone else ever has and bringing me back to Jesus from a dark place not too long ago. Your work filled the gaps and explained things in a way that feels right and makes sense to me. I look forward to joining you and thanking you with Jesus by our side.
ОтветитьLook at how American society is splintering now. Words are losing their meaning. We have become arrogant. Yet, some Americans can’t even define what a woman is.
I’ve wondered, what was the original language? The language that Adam spoke with God in the Garden? When the apostles spoke in tongues, was it because they understood who The Word wrapped in flesh was, the one who created everything, including language and languages was? They connected to the source…
There has never been anyone like Michael Heiser and I greatly miss his teaching. Thankfully he has so much content out there to enjoy
Ответить'seeds' and seed are very important in scripture - and the 'dirt' determines whether evil or good will spring from it. Adam means 'earth'. There are also 'hooks' to different kinds of 'trees' - relevant here would be the olive, fig, and pomegranite.
Figs - 'many seeds' - represent evil, gets the job done - but through chaos and effort. Olive represents purity - giving food, oil, and contains a 'stone'. Pomegranites represent fertility of the Lord - who works through both 'good' AND 'evil' (Isaiah 45:7). This is why they cap the pillars of the door (left & right) of Solomon's Temple.
Naaman mentions Rimmon - which means pomegranite. I feel he had a bit more of a discussion with the prophet than we are told in scripture. Notice there are (2) bags of dirt on (2) donkeys - 2 by 2.
Dagon was worshipping the Ark. We serve in either of two ways, submission or works. This is why Dagon was seen in (2) different states... one prostrate (obedience), and the other with his facilities to work broken off (rebellion).
The 'law' is a blessing and a curse and cannot be 'broken' - it merely 'breaks' one who is rebellious. (Romans 2:12-14)
This is one of my favorite stories in the Bible. Love it. Love it love it it reminds it me of me
Ответитьthe tower of babel is related because that was the event that created "the nations", and therefore the different cosmic geographic locations under domain of foreign gods.
ОтветитьThat covers a loving God so beautifully! John 3:16 "For God so loved the WORLD"
ОтветитьYou know what's funny I realize sometime ago that when people use terms like tell people they're lower than dirt or refer to dirt as being dirt poor or just nothing good the ironic thing in the beauty of life is that dirt is actually exactly the life would of our world it's where we actually came from, this has the dual benefit of also proving that science isn't a contradiction to scripture, but confirmation of scripture. And anyone whos truly paying attention to nature will tell you, good soil is about the most valuable thing on earth. At the end of the day everything that lives, lives because life springs out of the soil.
ОтветитьThis assumes that the Tower of Babel was a literal historic event. But we know this, like the flood and other things that Genesis claims, never happened.
ОтветитьNaaman understood Dominion better than todays Christians.
