Aww, you didn't mention Dune 2000 and Emperor: Battle for Dune. The latter being my most favorite Westwood title. Lots of Red Alert memories as well.
ОтветитьCommand and Conquer Generals was my first Command and Conquer. I just hope for Remaster for Generals. I just know chances are slim.
ОтветитьRenegade didn't fail because of UT and halo. Maybe halo. But 2002 was peak CS time when everyone was getting on board there. Imagine thinking anything is failing because of UT. 2k3 was almost six months before the renegade release. I remember some of my UT mates played it and appreciated it. Renegade was also directly competing with BF1942, which was released around the same time as 2k3 - allowing BF to take a foothold before the release of renegade. Had these two titles been switched it was entirely possible that renegade could have gone the distance.
ОтветитьYou say that the team size of 50 people for TD was “small”. 50 was huge for the time. Most games had 5-10 people, the bigger studios would get maybe 20. TD was doing so much with so much multimedia, all with incredibly new technology, that it required such a huge team though.
ОтветитьMe and my cousin sank HOURS into Generals and Zero-Hero. Finally beat everything on hard then we discovered the mods. Such good memories
ОтветитьI grew up playing C&C, but as a kid I was trash. Now in the prime of my life, C&C and RTS is dead. What a sick joke.
ОтветитьThe only game I've played from the series was Red alert 3 for Xbox. Loved that game. I thought it died after that. I didn't know they kept going
ОтветитьCommand & Conquer 4 (and Dawn of War 3) never happened
ОтветитьDo more death of a game series, God knows there are plenty nowadays
ОтветитьI'm glad that the Red Alert 2 community is still alive. 😍
ОтветитьEA bought every good studio and killed what they had going. Maxis, Westwood, Bullfrog. Fuck them.
ОтветитьWaiting and hoping for that TS and RA2 remake.
ОтветитьSeeing Generals 2 footage is unearthing levels of anger that has yet to die. Thanks a lot nerdslayer for the memories and the rage 🥲
ОтветитьI think the main end fo C&C is what they did to Kane in the forbidden 4th game. Arguably, Kane IS the C&C franchise and without him it's just another military RTS. If theye ver do a 5th one, they should totally make him finally win or something like that
ОтветитьThe music was outstanding on all Command and Conquer games where the main composer was Frank Klepacki, unlike other RTS games, (which honestly had bangers too like WC2, Starcraft 1 & 2 and Dawn of War) Command and Conquer music had actual names where you can easily distinguish what track was playing, and it was bopping.
ОтветитьArmor Superiority. GDI - C&C III: Tiberium Wars
ОтветитьThe soundtrack of these games had no reason to go so hard😭
ОтветитьGenerals 2 F2P could have been worked like this:
Multiplayer and Skirmish with Vanilla Factions for free.
Specialized Generals for sale.
Singleplayer Campaign for sale.
You would have a free demo-like game with access to multiplayer but have to pay to get the full game experience.
I would've mentioned Dune 2000,too
ОтветитьEeeeeeeeeeeee aaaaaaaaaaaaa
Mr beast buy it
To this day when I feel sad, I think about Tim Curry looking down on us from...SPACE...and laughing!
Ответитьi still quote generals on the daily.
ОтветитьI wish Red Alert 2; and Yuri's Revenge was remastered for today along with Generals Zero Hour and Generals along with the others
ОтветитьDidn't Westwood studios make buried in time as well?
ОтветитьWhat killed Command and Conquer was EA never followed up on C&C3 Kane's Wrath. EA definitely never released a forced co-op P.O.S cash grab in a half-arsed attempt to snatch up E-Sports revenue.
ОтветитьC&C series was awesome, i still play it after all those years. Tiberium Universe was great at all aspects.
ОтветитьC&C Red Alert 2 Yuri's Revenge was my favorite CnC game growing up, but I played them all Generals Zero Hour being a close second.
Also you're absolutely right Renegade is way too underrated I loved it growing up.
RA2 and Yuri's expansion is up to this day, one of my all-time fav games <3
ОтветитьI have played all CnC titles, except you know which, we do not talk about it.
I personally find ZH the most fun to play.
Honestly, the biggest downfall is that rts games have been on life support for years. Most of the games are from old die-hard players, keeping them alive based on nostalgia. Of course, EA being EA, has fault in C&C death. I also have to mention the quality of the ip with all of the random spinoff games.
ОтветитьI love Genna Bains comment when a C&C came out for mobile. it was something along the lines of "I'm glad my Husband is dead so he didn't have to see this"
ОтветитьI really like RA2. Even the different countries in the same faction had unique units in it. That was great.
ОтветитьThe red alert world tournament is still active though...
Ответить.....why did you have to upload this... I'm so sad now....
ОтветитьGo buy Tempest Rising
ОтветитьEA murdered the franchise
ОтветитьI am playing with Red alert 3 right now, and it has such lower quality, than Starcraft 2. Westwood cannot be matched with Blizzard
ОтветитьJust me or does Kane look like Andrew Tate?
ОтветитьRed Alert 3 was just SO much fun. Corny as all hell, but that's a very large part of its charm. Also the music.
ОтветитьI had both Red Alert and Retaliation on PS1. I remember buying the PS1 mouse to play it. Such a great game.
ОтветитьCounterstrike was with Throne of Baal one of the best expansions ever made.
ОтветитьHey, I remember suggesting this way back! Thanks for making this vid!
ОтветитьThe BPJM in Germany is just made up of Boomers who have no actual fucking Idea about Videogames, at all.
ОтветитьI heard Tempest Rising is a pretty much good replacement, given we dont get new C&C games anymore.
Ответить
