I think that pre-dates my 'shack visits. I remember a vertical version. 12-601 I think. I still have the AM/FM version 12-602 though it doesn't seem as sensitive as it was. Everything is pretty packed in there, probably not going to take on the repair job. The dial is about the hardest to read analog thing ever conceived. Had better sound than the other two offered at the time (12-635a and 12-710).
ОтветитьMade in Taiwan, with mostly Japanese components.
ОтветитьTo experience it. Turn it off and listen to it. Although the shape, tone and technology are obsolete .But it was a pleasure to experience it .
I believe that many people would have this feeling.
As usual. Damn you. In 67 i was 11. Life was good in Kaisersalutern. Long story in two words, "Army brat." Brings back old memories. Good on ya Man. Thanks.
ОтветитьIf my memory is correct, that was the first air band portable. I already had a multiband radio from JC Penney that covered those frequencies, otherwise I’d have probably bought this one.
ОтветитьFairly impressive radio
The simplistic design seemed cheap but that was just the way it was.
Now I remember the Allied Radio stuff and the Knight Kits
it always amazes me to see such great AM reception. i live in germany and all can get on long and medium wave is foreign stations. and only with a 1950s tube radio. BBC 5 is the only station with 'good' reception, all others are like listening to short wave. so far i once got a station from north carolina with reasonable quality
a tecsun pl380 i.e. will not find a single station even at night
The CC Crane Skywave looks like a radio that may have evolved from the Realistic Jetstream.
ОтветитьHej Todderbert thanks for the presentation of Realistic Jetstream radio a very cool radio take care and have a nice day in Chicago.
ОтветитьThat’s ONE ☝️ INTERESTING 🤔 radio 📻. I can tell that it’s a Radio 📻 Shack brand. I’ll guess it’s from about 1982. AM only, with aircraft band. This must have been a radio 📻 for listening 👂 to the airport band. Your friend, Jeff.
ОтветитьA beaut!
ОтветитьWhere is the radio in midnight cowboy?
ОтветитьI had so much fun watching this review, i was so impressed by how this 1960s radio am reception was way better than the 2000s cc skywave! i always prefer radios from 70s and 80s over current ones.
ОтветитьMy best memory of the Jetstream... there was a Jetstream Mini radio with same AM/VHF-air band combo, smaller size than the radio you are testing here.
ОтветитьI just got one for 1$ at a church sell and it works great, it's a bit beat up
