Hiya, I just wanted to let you know, that the current Checklist supplied on the online portal no longer has (unfortunately) the box for an "Open Work Permit Application" (#5 - Class of Application Section) I found on the Immigration website, we now have to wait until our application is approved before we can apply. Which sucks as it also says it can take between 1-4 months to get one. 😔

Hi again. Also, you cannot print this form to write N/A on it, it specifically says in the online portal to not print and scan any of the PDF forms, I did before I read that and tried uploading them but it would not let me. So it has to go in without any written N/A's.

Hi Suyash, about the requirement of Canadian Police Certificates, if my spouse comes on visitor visa and HAS NOT lived for more than 6months in canada before we apply for Inland application - do we have to provide Canadian Police Certificate ?

in the checklist IMM5533 , last section for Signatures, for forms IMM 5406 & 5669 , I ticked on principal applicant and ALSO ticked on other family members, although my wife is coming alone (no other family members coming with her and NO children)
does that make my application refused and returned ?

My wife is in India, after marriage, we have updated the national identity documents (aadhar card, PAN card & election card) details with the her new name and address, but not the passport details. (Note - She has her previous name and home address, in her Passport document).

I have a few questions :
1) Should we get her PCC based on her new address?
2) During the Canada Permanent Residency Application - Do I still need to fill her application with her name i.e. the name before marriage- as per her passport "given name" or we can fill the application with her new name (the name : After Marriage) - which is available in the nation identity document?

Additional Information about Children, you can't just upload the document but need to print the whole thing out, write N/A and scan it all back in? But I did that and it told me the file exceeded 4mb and couldn't be uploaded. What can I do with this?

Under imm5533e page 5 point 5 can i type N/A or must i put an income or proof of a way to sponsor my wife.

Hi, I had a few questions. In the checklist, in part e it says “Important documents for you and your spouse showing that you are recognized as each other's spouse (such as employment or insurance benefits)” - can I tick this box and provide the marriage certificate even though I provided it earlier as part of the civil documents section?

I have a Canadian PR and Currently in India came for my marriage in the month of April 2024 and I will return to Canada in July 2024. I am continuing my employment in canada, albeit remotely from India.
I have a doubt while filling up my spouses PR application. after our marriage in April 2024 me and my spouse are living in india along with my parents in my parents house. Since the house is owned by my father so we don’t have any utility bills on my name or my spouse’s name.

We have a plan to start our own family in Canada, I will return to canada in July 2024, now I want to apply for spousal PR.
While filling up the form IIM5533(document checklist) Supporting docs for sponsored persons.
Question 7) Proof of relationship to sponsor
Question a) Are you currently living together?

Based on my case should I have to answer yes or no?

If my answer is yes I don’t have any of the supporting documents mentioned below.
1) proof of joint ownership of residential property.
2) Rental agreement.
3) Proof of joint utility accounts
4) Vehicle insurance with me and my spouse listed on it.
5) Government issued docs with same address.
6) Detailed letter of explanation for not having above docs

In this case do we come as not living together or do we have to submit detailed letter of explanation regarding why can’t we submit proofs?

Do you live in canada now?

I’m in india only to spend time with my family and will return back july 2024

Do I have to answer yes or no for that question?

Hello, Thank you for uploading such helpful videos. I have a situation to discuss. My sister recently got married back home and came to Canada a month ago. She is currently applying for her husband. She is also pregnant and unable to work due to complications in her pregnancy. Under the Employment/Source of Income section, should she go with the second option? Also she worked last year and had filed her tax this year. From January 2024 till now she is not working. Can you please kindly suggest what should she do?
