Troubleshooting A Dometic RV Refrigerator That's Not Working On Propane

I tried all this. I don't smell propane. What's my next step?

My fridge works on both but propane valve constantly spewing propane and staying lit, have to shut valve to get it to stop.. any suggestions?

That helped a lot on my gas system I did find a wire to be a little defective and I bet that's what was going on I ordered a new one of those. But I also don't have electric working on my fridgerator do you have a video on that?

My Dometic works fine top and bottom on electric, on propane only the freezer works, the fins in the fridge section stay room temperature. Serious head scratcher as to why this is. Any suggestions?

I've had two different guys look at mine 2003 Dometic fridge, spent four hundred so far, getting flame it's heating up but it's not cooling my fridge, works good on electric but won't cool on propane even though I have Flame, really frustrating especially when I'm forced to dry camp

good video - did not fix my issue but helped add some knowledge. My Dometic model DM2672LBX is not cooling on "Auto' or on "Gas". Auto light comes on, "Check" light comes on for a second, beeps and goes offl. I had a lighting strike hit near camper that blew out the converter which I just replaced, I'm guessingthe issue must be related to that - could it be that I need a new board? Thanks in advance

I pulled my eyebrow board wire and got the igniter to start clicking once again. But now it has stopped clicking all together. I’ve unplugged a reattach the eyebrow board number of times with no luck of getting the igniter to click again. Any suggestions? Is it possible it’s the circuit board? My solenoid will click and gas passes through. I am just not getting the igniter to click

You are lucky you have anything on the panel, and is kind of working.

Thanks a bunch. I disassembled the LP burner section to check for spark as in your video only to discover a chunk of carbon sitting on the burner blocking the flow of LP. It must have fallen from the "chimney" above on our drive home as the fridge had worked just hours before when we left camp. It works great now but I'm curious why that carbon deposit was there.

I have a dometic fridge doing the same thing, but I have spark... the fridge sometimes lights and stays on for 6 hours to days, then faults and won't re-lite. I don't know if it's the atwood 14002 board or something else causing this issue. I have sparked for 3 cycles. Blown the exhaust tube. I've checked the lp valve. I have LP at the valve, at the magnetic valve adjustment, and the orfice. When it does light, the flame seems strong. I'm lost. Any help would be appreciated.

My fridge started well on propane but I found it shut off after a couple of days. I tried a new electronic board, a new igniter electrode and the problem appears again. Finally, I realize that the electronic board needs DC from the battery and the gas solenoid shut off because the battery voltage had dropped. My battery was due for change.

On a coachman 1995 Santara the generator a quiet onen 2000 shuts off after a few minutes when disconnecting from short power, what should I check for first. A. Franco Lancaster, CA

Couldn't you just put electrical tape on the shorted wire?

I can't thank you enough for this video. I was able to check everything and confirm I had power to everything but it just would never go tick tick tick tick tick tick tick...I also had propane to the gas stove and heater so that wasn't the issue. I buttoned it all up and went out later after it had warmed up and thought I would look at it again. I unplugged the shore power, came around the corner and heard it going tick tick tick and it finally lit after about 20-30 seconds! It was cold out in the morning, about 33 degrees, it had warmed up in the afternoon to around 62 degrees. Could there have been some moisture that turned to ice crystals that was preventing it from igniting or even trying to ignite? Weird but this video helped me confirm that for all intents and purposes, it should have lit! Thank you!!!

PS. I forgot to add that this is a brand new unit and I was taking it out for it's first trip and I had already tested that it would function on both AC power and propane so it's not like it never worked.

Help!! My dometic freezer just went out running on electric. There was a sheet of ice on back wall. Slid thermeter all way up. Check light on. Its cool not cold. The fridge light works it has power.

I have a 1998 domatic that has been working well but today neither AC or LP is working. There is Ac and DC getting to the board. Lights on the eye brow are working. Fuses are good. The oms on heater 37.5 what am I missing. We have not been on vacation in the 41 years we've been married and now all of a sudden everything has gone haywire it seems.

Dude, that fuse off of the control panel behind the fridge is a 110 volt fuse..... when you tested it you should have set your meter for AC, not DC...

Would love to see diagnosing same refrigerator that doesn't cool on propane or electricity.

So, is there a pilot flame or does is just ignite when needed? I got my camper from a guy and he didn't even know. It could run on propane. I can manually light it. But?
Does that flame kick on and off? Or is it constantly burning? I don't even hear mine trying to click, but I can put a lighter hair powers up. No check light but if I don't use a lighter, then the check light comes on

6 I thought mine was missing their component coming from the gas line to THE flute. But yours doesn't have any kind of cone or anything leading to where the flame would ignite either.

Please help!!! Only use propane setting, don’t have electricity at its location.
Rm2611 freezer works perfectly fridge gets a very slight chill. Replaced thermistor 2 times same results. Pulled thermistor outside of fridge, no change. Control panel bad?

My dometic rm2351 fan stopped working. I checked and the thermal switch seemed to have died even though it was working fine the day before I brought the trailer home form a camping trip. The fins and the whole system was pretty hot so it should have been running. I took it out and got some numbers off of it but it doesn’t list the temp. What is idea temp switch for using the ambient air in the fridge area to trigger it? Mine is mounted directly on the side of the fan and not in the heater area but it was like that when I bought it brand new.

I am so grateful I found this video. I was trying to figure out how to bleed the line when I found your video. And this was the exact problem we had. In fact the ignitor wire was already charred. We were just one trip away from disaster! My husband is changing it out today.

Hi Darren, I found this looking for information about how to tell if my Dometic RV fridge is actually running on shore power. I suspect that it's not because even though it was plugged in, the "check" light was flashing when I had the propane run out. Some other troubleshooting tips said that in automatic mode the light should only come on when both AC and propane aren't working. Do you have an AC troubleshooting guide? Will search your channel now. I happen to be in the Seattle area for a couple of months. Good to know you are near by.

Following your video just got my ‘95 Scottsdale by Cobra to ignite. I’ve been messing with it for weeks. Now hopefully it gets cold. Thanks you for putting this video out. That many years ago and it’s still helpful!!

What about if the lamp inside won’t come on with electric?

Where does blue wire go from top left connector. Mine got cut. doa no ac no lp..
